just a suggestion, but I believe all topics related to DJing, including equipment, should be free to be discussed in a DJ forum.

If someone violates the TOS, is rude, unprofessional or baiting, I can understand deleting a post, but closing a thread so NO ONE can discuss it doesn't make any sense to me.

If we are really closing threads because the point was made before, I would guess most threads should be closed pretty quickly.

It's bizarre that when one brand name is mentioned, it needs to get shoved to a "debate", private or closed.

Again, it shows people that "have no interest" in a brand name cannot help going into a thread about it and not only reading about this subject they have no interest in, but then need to comment on that same subject that they have no interest in. Some even complain that this subject they cannot stand is even being discussed. Really?

I do not read threads about subjects that I have no interest to me. But I firmly believe people that do have interest in that subject should be free to discuss it, even though i don't care about it. Even if it has been discussed before.

Scott ---- In Teletubbieland, one does as Telletubbies would do.....live a wonderful life free of conflict or controversy.....God forbid the temperature may rise a bit....Check out the Stepford Wives as well....

you'll get my point....

Bose-o-phobia runs rampant here

Just a guess here, but since those forums are blocked from search engines, then the people on the mountain don't get their free advertising, by having all sorts of links in search engines to every forum...

That is after all, what the constant posting is about... ;)

Read the fine print on the koolaid label :D

Why don't you give it a rest already Scott? People are getting sick and tired of all of these Bose threads. I know I am.

We get it, Bose is good, you like Bose.

99.9% of us know the Bose is a capable system that has many good uses. You're blatantly disrespecting Dan and Fred at this point. Give it a rest. So many things we can talk about, every thread doesn't have to be a Bose thread.

It does seem that any brand of speaker can be discussed here except for Bose. Ok I understand that no one that sells Bose is a sponser on the site, but in the case of DJ software I have not seen a problem discussing other DJ software other than Rocket which is written by a sponsor here. :sqconfused:

Rick, as long as no ones selling........I can say Bose, Bose, Bose, Bose, Bose..... (there 5 cents coming from the mountain....)

Wiz...why don't you start a poll.....Better yet let's ban everyone who owns a Bose....

The problem is ..is that Scott starts an innocuous post...then you know who steps in, just to inflame and so on.....

I suspect this'll be shut down momentarily...

I don't give a crap about Bose, but I do care about this place and respect the management.

Y'know it's funny how people over simplify things all the time. People CAN discuss Bose here. To say that you can't is pure BS.

Well Wiz...Scott was discussing it; his post got closed...and now you're crapping on him here....Hmmm - I smell something

If people respected management, they wouldn't get upset over a Bose thread; pour gasoline on it to inflame it...they'd just walk by with out looking.....Some it seems can't do that....

Here is the problem the way I see it. Its all in perceived value. Those who own certain brands of equipment try to impress on everyone else that their brand is THE BEST. There are some brands/models of equipment that are limited in what they can do. There are other brands that are more versatile.

A Kayak and a Yacht will both take you across water. If you are only going to be on the river/lake, then a Kayak is best suited for you. Do not expect it to be very suitable for the open ocean. Whereas, the bigger boat can be used on the river/lake as well as in the ocean. Now which is more versatile?

I own several brands, models and sizes of equipment for the simple reason of versatility. I can mix, combine and select whatever arrangement is needed for the task at hand. I can do small functions from 10 people up to 2,000 with no trouble. I do everything from small parties, weddings, clubs and outdoor events. That is versatility that no one system can afford me.
The bottom line is that they all have a place.

Its ok to share ones experiences but when one tries to make others feel inferior because they do not own a certain Brand/Model then that becomes overbearing on those who don't care to listen to the garbage.

Same thing goes for having facades etc to hide wires. We all know it looks better to have everything looking neat and tidy, but there are a lot of DJs and customers out there who don't give a rat's azz. While we are busy critiquing, someone else is out there making money.

I see no need to stifle opinions about any given brand as long as the person does not have a financial gain from said product, except a sponsor of course. If one clicks on a thread and does not like what they are reading then just don't click on it again. If two or more people want to argue or get in a pissing match, let them! They would have only themselves as an audience and soon they will realize its a no win battle.

Here you go, I'm going to talk about Bose.

I sang at a charity event on Sunday and there was a guy who volunteered his pair of Bose sticks and operated the sound. For vocals I really do not prefer Bose. For DJ music it sounds great, no complaints from me. Who knows, maybe if the Bose is tweaked and operated just the right way it will sound good for vocals?

The last show of the night was a VERY good performer. He used very high quality backing tracks that he played an electric guitar to. I swear I saw flames coming from his fingertips, the guy had serious skills. He also sang.

He used the same system I use-a pair of EV Zx1s and a pair of Sb122 subs-it sounded fantastic. Crystal clear-even the vocals. He was a true one man band-a very talented performer. My system costs a fraction of what a Bose dual stick system costs.

There ya go, we talked about Bose, some good some not as good-just like any other gear. Thunder thinks my speakers are toys, I'm not crying about it, I wipe my a$$ with his opinion. Wherever I go people think my system sounds great, just like the Bose dudes. Wherever they go people love their Bose.

If you really believe I am blatantly disrespecting Dan and Fred, I could not disagree more. I do talk about many things and do discuss many things here. Feel free to research my posts.
You've made it clear that you don't care about a subject, can't stand hearing about a subject, are sick and tired of a subject, but cannot help commenting on that same subject and bringing that thread to the top. I believe that shows some disrespect.

You have a right to your opinion Scott. I stand by EXACTLY what I said. Y'all are obsessed and think Bose should be the center of attention-all the time. It's some sort of sickness.

You think the sun rotates around the Bose. Do you see people starting a million threads about JBL or Peavey? Lots of folks use JBL or Peavey, but they don't have to constantly announce it and stroke their egos because of the kind of gear that they use.

So, if I mention Bose then this thread will be closed? :sqeek:

Hmmmmmmmm...

Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose

   :sqerr: :sqlaugh: :sqwink:

Total sarcasim, northing more...

Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose Bose ...

Um, OK, so is this thread a keeper?...... :sqerr::sqwink:
I wouldn't lay any heavy wagers on that happening, Joe. ;)

I moved the thread in question from a public forum to a private one last night. My reasoning, we're not in business to promote brands for webcrawlers.

For what it's worth, I see the pot calling the kettle black here. There is already a Sybil post in this thread. That's a cross of our TOS.

Scott, the thread was closed because of what it was ~ a commercial advertisement. That's a cross of our TOS.

Threads are rarely closed here. Sometimes it can't be helped... but we try to be proactive. Wiz is correct in that the logo plate battles are growing tiresome. When flame fests erupt the staff has to manage them. I don't log on here because I enjoy doing damage control.

Thread management has nothing to do with the logo on one's equipment. I wish you guys would stop inferring that it does. :)

Shouldn't all forums be private then?:sqwink: I see lots of brand names being mentioned. I mentioned that I bought a pacemaker mp3 player recently because I found it to be an effective tool.

Actually, the interesting part here is that the sAP esoB, to use an old term, was developed for vocals.

When it comes down to it, the Bose is a tool just like JBL, Community, and many other speakers.

Over my career as a DJ I have used many brands of speakers including ones that were home made. If it sounds good (to me) and it has a reasonable price I'll use it.

I say (to me) because sound quality is in the ear of the beholder.
