Last night we did the Lewis wedding. The setting was at Gilbertsville Farmhouse a old barn turned into a venue for weddings or what ever event you wish to do there. This was our second time doing a wedding in a rustic barn type setting and let me say this in both weddings the atmosphere, the decor and the people including the bride and groom have a easy going in no hurry type of mode just great people in general to deal with. We've done weddings at some very nice high class venues but you know I'd love doing these types of wedding, no hassles, no noses in the air saying I'm better than you just great down to earth people. Gilbertsville is about a hour from my house, Kathryn and Andrew were having the ceremony there at 5 and we are to start at 5:30 to 10:30. The buffet was set up outside and once we got all the events of the day done dancing started around 8:30 and they had a great time, Heres a few pics of the night

To my luck last night was a beautiful night. I was worried about trying to keep people in for dancing, out side they had a area set up for a big bonfire. Around 9 it started to rain but only lasted 15 minutes or so, but before the rain most everyone stayed in and danced.
As for temperature inside it was very comfortable. And yes the chandeliers did change color

I was told that a banner in front of your board for a wedding is a no no. I agree and when are you going to upgrade your gear? You show the same setup in every picture you take with your gear. It looks to me you're not using subs this time. Am I right?

He will probably get new gear when his business plan tells him it's time to. He's also taken the time to work on his website it's very nice and I'll bet he's never been shot at in a bar before....

Glass houses man...

Jeff Thanks. I held back thinking, Maybe he's making money?

He said he was happy with the speakers he has even though a few of us suggested that he upgrade the speakers. They look old and I guess that's from a DJs perspective. The client and guest probably don't care. All they care is that it sounds decent and it works. Just what I observed. I haven't used a banner in years. I lost the one I had and never got another one. I find it helpful to do a great job where people will request a business card.

Mix .. remember the glass house .. Earthquakes look dated too. Those JBLs look like most any other speaker out there today. The banner thing is personal .. bands used to put their name on the front face of the drum kit and no one said anything. And I agree .. the clients probably didn't care or notice.

My rat fur AB-36B's, Yamaha S115V's, Yamaha BR-15's, Talmus XT215 (Almost 20 years old) may not look as modern items, yet they get the job done and I hear no complaints.

Mix, Mix, Mix fellows from the south or from out west or even here in New York if they think may banner is a No No or tacky I DONT CARE, every area is different and every client is too. Ive been doing this since 1993 and not ONE client and ever said to me tacky or take that down. Everyone here has his or her way of set up and doing events. Why should you care if I have my banner out, are you the one doing the event, are you the one who is getting the money for the event. And why should I up grade anything, thoses JBLs I got new 4 or 5 years ago they owe me nothing they sound great. Many others here have the same set up picture after picture. Mix don't get me wrong I can take the good with the bad from everyone or anyone but you and everyone else here any picture I post you will see my banner.

If you don't even have a banner, Why do you care? Is the person that stole your banner Mix using the banner??

Look for positive! You can also learn from what these guys that are doing well and having success.
Is the glass half empty or half full???
As far as the turntables , They look great! Most people at event don't care how the tables are setup.

How could you tell how old they were? You could buy that exact same model and style up until late last year.

Let me tell you a little about the JRX115 although they are entry level speakers I would put them up against any similar product with similar specs. I ran them and the JRX118s for about 5 years and I still have them hanging around here just in case I ever need more power than my yorkies can provide. I would still be running them except for the fact that I got tired of the weight of the speakers and the amp racks. I found something lighter to do the job. Same can be said for my AB36s I really have no need to"show my size" to anyone. I do take them all out a few times a year for backyard parties. The neighbours know when the party starts ;)

The JRXs are a very under rated speaker. I used to run the JRXs with a P5000 on top and a P7000 on the bottom. I made a mistake one night and took the 7000 just for the tops and they took almost all of it with no strain at all. Buy quality get quality
