Here is a cool little 1st attempt concept graphic I did up with Adobe Premiere Pro for a wedding I am doing this weekend. I took an open source HD video snippet of falling roses and supeimposed a grapphic I did from a free online monogram maker in *.png format with a transparent background. I looped the video several times to make it longer and will then loop it again to play indefinitaely from VDJ8 Clipbank for non-video portions of the reception like speaches etc (not doing the ceremony - yippee). Only thing I don't like right now is the slight jitter of the looping roses sequences. It was a first try and the falling roses sequence was not very long to begin with - better selection of vids will likely work better in future attempts I believe. I am torn now as to whether this is good enough to present or maybe I'll just stick with the non-animated Gobo monograms I created via slideshow or powerpoint - we shall see, thoughts?
here it is:

Well the jury is out. Tried the looping monogram video at the wedding and they absolutely loved it. Also had a guest come up to me who had a whole bunch of video clips of the ceremony which I played randomly while Dinner music was playing - talk about a captive audience. They were absolutely mesmerized. Gotta say last night was my best gig yet for comments of appreciation from many many people. Hit that one out of the park with just a great crowd of professional folks....

Attaboy. Nice work. I had the same response a couple of weeks ago when I did the movie-file monogram. In my case, I pulled a clip from youtube then overlayed it with their monogram. It didn't have the jerky stuff you mentioned. I assume you had to use a computer to play it or did it work with a USB stick on your projector?

Next weekend is when I try my projector/tripod arrangement as a true Gobo device. I am the organizer/host/vj for a busy weekend Naval Divers Reunion with Dinner/dance for a wide group of Divers coming from across Canada - should be a hoot...
Got some amazing media lined up for that.
See my navydiver.ca web page (reunion page) for that one...
Last night was just on a LED TV monitor. Will be posting a giglog vid soon but first am heading out on my boat for the remainder of the long weekend. Heading to Washington State (Lopez Island) for an overnighter to unwind ;-)

try this EPIC Intro

or maybe this one

My only comment is I try to stay away from things that cost extra. Unless I get extra pay for the work I will usually stick to free and dead easy solutions instead. Time is money and these types of things are never ever as easy to do as they are touted to be - often taking precious hours to collect media from a busy B&G and make perfect (in an already busy life). Quite frankly with the cost of weddings these days, brides and grooms aren't really interested in spending even more bucks on fluffy extras from a DJ - videographer maybe? My clients have been loving the monograms I do (something nobody in this market really does as yet) and it literally takes me minutes to whip up the monogram loops I do with material freely obtainable on YouTube or other sources - have even done them at the wedding itself during quiet times (like the dinner) on the fly. Not looking to get into the movie trailer industry at this stage either as I do enough editing when I put my events together. Hence the need to to employ the K.I.S.S. method. Paying for these types of things no matter how inexpensive also cuts into my profits and there are already too many things like license fees, cost of music, insurance, association fees, vehicle costs, equipment breakage and on and on that detract from profit IMHO. My video shows as a VJ usually blow peoples concept of a DJ/VJ service out of the water anyway. Another HD extravaganza for me is not that spectacular when you hit the with HD vids all nigh anyway. Sorry but it is how I feel....

well try factor it in - you can change them easy (If your willing to make more $$)

but hey its how I grew and have done this for 39x years as a Dj

have a nice day

Chuck-- Check your Adobe Premier Pro to see what transitions you have available. You might be able to use a simple dissolve at the edit/"jitter" point to smooth that section out.
