I am looking to purchase some odds and ends.

I am looking for something practical, economicallly friendly. What say you?

1) Wired mics
2) Mixer (Nothing real fancy) I use Numark CM100s now, and I think they work just fine.

There will be more I need to purchase, these are the top two things today I can think of.

I'm not big on the cm100- I need the 3 band eq control on channels. It does a lot to help mixing. If you want to stay in the Numark zone - I have a cm200 that is pretty cool, and recently started using a Denon mixer in my digital rack.

Nice thing about the CM200 is they have a few models - a basic 5 channel (I have that one), a 4 channel with FX and a USB model with sound cards.

i have the CM200 USB model and it kicks ass for a simple 5 channel mixer.the basic advantage and choice for me was it connects without the need of drivers or sound cards. the 2 USB ports are included so you can take advantage of the multiple sound card feature found in most DJ software.

Another vote for the 58... is there better mics? maybe, but the 58 is a workhouse and has proven itself....

If the mixer is working fine, why are you wanting to buy a new one?
I have been using the same one for over 10 years. it does the job well.

Some like to have the latest and greatest I suppose....

For me I like my Mackie DFX6 but feel the need to upgrade it to a mixer with high, mid, mid sweep and low eq's on each channel. Mostly because I do karaoke and this would be a great way to fine tune singers... and it couldn't hurt at weddings to bring out the more timid speakers.

+1 on the SM58 wired or wireless mics.... I'm going to go EV RE-2 when it comes time to replace my AT Freeway 200's

We're going to have some awesome pricing on show demos from Denon at Mobile Beat. For economical but highly functional check out the DN-S700 and DN-X120. We'll have all models, so there are some step-ups from that too.

**EDIT: Shoot... I read two threads and then combined my answer into one. LOL. This probably doesn't make sense, now, but I'll leave it in here. Meanwhile I'm laughing at myself**

Neither of those would be my cup of tea.... anything good in like a standard mixer rather than a DJ mixer with say about 6-8 Mic inputs/Line Level? With 3 to 4 band eq's? Maybe even compression and definately onboard FX?

Sure... I personally like the EFX series from SoundCraft. Check out the EFX6 or EFX8. :)
