Got the song list from a B/G for this saturday night...I thought I was pretty knowledgable on music - I don't know it all but have heard of most bands...till now.

Abby Anders, Mikki Viereck, eagle eye cherry, secondhand serenade..

Mikki Viereck isn't alternative. She sang "a song for my son on his wedding day" over 10 years ago.

Don't feel dumb. There are new artists coming out all the time and relatively unknown artists from the span of music history in the US. Add artists from other countries that didn't get any (or much) air play in the US and we're all ignorant!

I read someplace that there are about 95,000 new songs released in the US every year.
And my kids come up with all kinds of stuff - but I expect them to.

But multiple ones from the came couple..scary LOL.

Sept wedding the groom wanted a couple of songs by 'the polka jets' - I found them (google duh) but no way to buy what he wanted so he got me a CD.

I'm hoping that this music is available. Little time left to prepare if i have to get it from them.
 
I have one song by each of those artists except Abby Anders. Never played any of them except M Viereck once!

"Fall For You" and "Save Tonight" were big wedding hits a while back. Jas is right with Mikki V. "A Song for My Son".

However, I think they meant to ask for Abby "Anderson" who sings "Daddy". All good tracks and now you'll have them. ;)

Save tonight eagle eye cherry and a song for my son I have.

It doesn't bother me one bit when I get requests I've never heard of.

I feel like I listen to a lot of music and know a lot of music. I

But 'll never know all of it.

I was also in the camp that only recognized Eagle Eye Cherry.

It sounds stupid, but I'd put each of those tracks into Pandora and come up with 10-15 songs that are similar to each. Pandora does a phenomenal job of knowing what you "might" like if you are into a tune. I bet you get some great ideas of what other music they like doing that.

I've heard of all 4. I played Eagle Eye back in the day very occasionally. I played Mikki Viereck once or twice for a M/S song. I have songs by the other two but I can't recall ever playing them.

There's always going to be some you haven't heard of. I had an email from a bride for next year there were several artists from Nunavet she wants during the night. I had never heard of any of them. She is living there now and wanted to add some of that flavour to the reception

Well damn, you do learn something new everyday

That song was being used in a commercial earlier this year, but the I am drawing a blank for the product at this moment, and I dont care enough to Google it

Save Tonight is a decent song, I would be a liar liar with my pants on fire if I said I knew the other three songs.
