I just bought 2 used items this week.

I bought DJ stuff this week, too!
An LL-200 replacement bulb for my Starball and a rotating XLR plug for a mic cord.

So, you're wondering why someone would waste their time posting about something so trivial?
Yeah, me too.

Yeah, me too.

Posting trivial stuff is generally not perceived as a waste by the poster[emoji1]... READING it is probably the waste.[emoji1]... There... you just wasted some more time.[emoji1]... Ya did it again... and again... STOP IT![emoji1]

You are more than likely making money!!??

Are you kidding us man, do you expect that he can/will answer these questions. This is a dude that needs his friend to setup his equipment. He has no clue.
No I don't need someone to setup my equipment! I need help when it comes to using a big setup. I can't move all that stuff any more by myself.

Mix its your money spend it as you please.
I got all bills paid this month and money left over to buy a couple of things. I haven't touched the money in the credit union yet and I have a savings account that I don't touch at all.

Sorry I made a mistake. 2 more bills are to be paid this month. The money is in the bank with more to spare.

I figure if we're going to have a conversation about Mix's gear, we can actually discuss the equipment itself. I didn't really expect an answer - and it doesn't look like I'll get one. But, I thought I'd try to turn it towards a discussion that might actually be useful for DJs.

No it's not trivial. I got some used items at great prices.

Right now I'm tired of getting phone calls from Chicago and each number is a different one with the same B.S.ing message. You can get a loan of up to 15k with no credit check and so on. I keep telling them to lose my number. The funny thing is when you call the number back they all have the same music playing before someone answers.

Next time I'm going to have fun with them and ask for the company name and tell them I will call them back after I check with the BBB to see if they are legit or not. Just to see how fast they hang up.

Your dumb as hell for calling them back. They take that as you being partially on the hook. They then forward your information to the next scammer. Heres a bright idea Macho, if you don't recognize the number don't answer the phone. If you know it's a scam don't entertain them by calling back. Use your common sense man.

The BBB is one of the most overrated organizations on the planet. I have no idea how they manage to stay relevant.

I think they have the same marketing consultants as WW, TK ... maybe even the folks who do the "Who's Who" in America books.

Then why is it whenever someone ask you about how you had something wired, or the driverack settings, you never give answers, and state that your partner set it up. All that you ever talk about are the knobs on the back of the 801's that are adjusted to make things matchup and sound good. However you have no clue as to what each knob is doing. You also needed advice on how you would hook in to the system for your bus gig.

I answer phone calls even if I don't know the number because I never know when it's a prospect looking for a DJ.

Do you normally get clients from Chicago??

With the same exact business shady practices as Yelp, no less. The funny thing is that people like Mix threaten to report businesses to the BBB like they're calling the cops, but almost nobody ever follows through. It's the adult-customer equivalent of "I'm telling on you!".

If you are answering the initial phone call from out of the area, then you know that it is scammer. Why would you then call the numbers back to even talk to them, and compare hold music. Are the leaving you a message inquiring about a gig, and seeing if you need a loan.

Just a little info. BBB means nothing to the scammers because most of them are out of the country spoofing USA numbers. BBB also means very little to most business in the USA. They have no power, only a place to voice concerns and problems.

Even if you advertise everywhere, the odds that you'll get a phone call asking about your DJ services is 1 in 100. I know this, because I advertise everywhere, have two phone numbers (one in Massachusetts, one in Rhode Island) and my phone almost never rings yet I'm booked consistently.

It also helps that I have a robocall blocker on both lines. I haven't talked to a telemarketer in over a year.
