I learned how to use a light controller in about 10 minutes can you at least set the to master slave configuration, you do know you can't just plug these in and have them work you need change a few settings

My point there Mix - do your research before you go. If people know they can talk you into something else, they will.
There will be times when master slave is nice and other time when going to the beat of the music will work
I just got the Cauvet Vue 4 light I bought yesterday. I haven't had a chance to thoroughly check it out. Hopefully I will get to do so later today. That light is awfully big. I got it for less then $70 which included shipping.
I have a few of them they are great lights in my opinion they fill a room very well
I assume this is going high on a stand, since one never wants lights OR speakers on the table or floor.
It will go on a stand. I have in the past put lights on the floor or table. That's when I didn't have a light stand. I plan on having the stand either right behind me or on the side of me.
Good .. speakers too .. right? They go on the floor only in a desperation move.
There is always another option if you look for it, though it sometimes requires you have the right gear. If the reason is your speakerrs haven't been fixed enough to go on a stand, then there are other issues to address.
I will make sure to take pictures of the room before the event is to start so you and others can see the limited amount of space in this room. I will be setup before the event is to start. In the room there will be chairs covering the small room. So I can't setup stands then. My job includes me playing in between breaks with the speakers for just a few minutes before the next set of speakers are to speak. At the end will be the actual dance.
Why not put the speakers on stands where YOU were planning to stand .. and put yourself remotely somewhere else in the room. A long cable or 2 and voila.
Chairs will be all over the room including a sidewall. The other side is for the guy selling CD'S of different speakers from all over the United States. This room is very tight to have an event in. That's why the committee is working on getting their own bank account so they keep adding money to it so they can rent a bigger space instead of being in there.
Again, if there is room for speakers on the floor, unless you're standing on them, there is room for some type of stand.
Again let me say the room is very small and there will be a lot of clutter in the room. Also remember you don't want people tripping over speaker stands. There will be just enough room for my black facade if I choose to use it.
Facade .. maybe important .. speaker stands .. NOT important. Mix, maybe there IS a reason you're not performing this coming Friday.
