My friend Maestro has the speaker perches I think and I always considered them when Mr LeBlanc first posted pics of them as they looked nice and used less "footprint" as many know thats what its all about. Due to certain setup locations though we will minimize the option for best sound.

What I'd like to find is an articulating mount, then you could angle the tops back a bit...

we needed the same thing
so we simply made the chain holding the BACK of the speakers
a little shorter than the chains holding the FRONT.
asjust the length of the chain and you can adjust the angle

Mike - these are Quiklok mounting arms

http://www.quiklok.com/catalog/?p=productsMore&iProduct=259&sName=SB-205

two O-clamps hold them to the lighting stand

I did modify them. As seen in the photos the speaker cup is at the end of the arm...With my 310A's the speaker ended up too far out...so I had a welder cut them in weld them in closer to bring the top tight with the stand....a better look imho...the photo above is before the mod...

Here's after the mod......As you can see this is in a pretty tight spot; 4 foot table (I made the facade.. and yes..I need to work on the wires)

pretty sure you just solved my problem
especially since the speakers and the lights will always be together, and can be right on the dance floor, where I want them. Even if the DJ table is not.

now I just gotta solve my problem of truss mounting the lights and fitting it all in the vehicle!

In case I haven't said so before

you guys are the best!

Mike

Hey guys, ditto what Aussum just said (post #45).

Wes...really do like the simplicity but yet elegance of your setups. It must be the Yorkville's that make the picture soooo much better.
All kidding aside, the single Yorkie 801, positioned the way you have it is how I will be setup in the near future. I just purchased the 801 in December '09 and have yet to use it. I've checked it out with my Tops (Yorkville NX 750PBs) and they sound awesome together.

Question for Wes: How much sound pressure do you feel when standing behind your table w/the sub (18") in front?
I traded my the LS 700PB up for the LS801PB. I found that the Yorkville Tops (750's) were overpowering the small sub. Believe it or not, I find that the 18" sub with wheels is much easier to maneuver than the smaller double 10" sub.

Sorry, guys...got carried away. Didn't mean to hijack the thread. I'll remember in future.

Mike...my RCF have three plugs that can be removed from each so I could fly them...but only IF I use the full truss. Going to have to think about it. I seldom use my truss; two T-bars with the Truss Tripod pole w/leggs.

It is definately different. It does rattle my bones on occasion. But I only use the 800 when doing school dances. Never at weddings. So I tend to crank it because the kids like it that way. So do I, really. Not sure what else to tell you except you are going to be very happy with that sub. I just know it.

Steve, I still don't get it. Why do you want to hang your RCF's?
Get 2 poles, stick them in subs and game over. Use your truss to sell more lights.

Anzyxx...Lighting isn't a big sell here...I include them as part of my price. even if i used sub poles, i'm still going to lose that outer section of tuss, unless i spread the subs wider which negates what i'm trying to accomplish; a compact set up...

Hanging the tops is just another options and may be quicker/easier than the mounting arms
