I've had this project I have been working on for about 2 years it is called Real Good Radio it's an internet radio station focused locally but broadcasting to the world. When i had the idea I was working in terrestrial radio with a non compete clause so all I could do is plan no promotion. I left radio in August and took a job driving school bus my non compete is now expired and I am free to do this

I will post some studio pics later in the meantime here is the stream

And our Facebook page

Website coming soon

How are you going to make money at this?

Ad revenue. I don't need to make a lot to pay the bills it's pretty low cost. I'm probably $10,000-$12,000 in to this all told but it's over a long period of time and it's all paid off. I started building a studio to do voice work about 10 years ago and it rippled from there

My day job pays well and gives me a lot of time off and unless I quit or mess it up I'm there till I retire. I have a few other irons in the fire too all in all it will easily support this until it can support itself.. The plan is break even this year and build listenership and review late in the year for next year. I'll be 54 this year the goal is to by 60 have this built to match my current income bank that for a couple of years then do this full time

If you ever decide to Gene I'd be glad to share any knowledge I have

I've got tons of questions! LOL - are you going live talking at all. How does licensing work for playing music?

I'll be doing some live and some voicetracked I have a few other former radio people and a guy that never did radio interested in doing some shows too. Licensing is a little tricky I can't seem to get a straight answer from them I will be buying a basic internet license Monday and let them figure it out from there

just checked out their fees...and yeah...couldnt make much sense of that

If you think that is confusing try talking to them on the phone. I feel buying a basic license and getting forgiveness later is the best plan
