These all look good.
Anyone know the dimensions of the EV ZXA1?
They need a photo of it next to a person to see the size ratio.

There is a picture of Mike holding one in our NAMM 2010 Report thread. Now you just need to know how big Mike is. LOL

I don't know the price of the EV that may be a factor.

The QSC K8 is a good option. Price $649.00

WAAAAY less... see below ->

FYI guys - MAP on the ZXA-1's = $499 each. Available for shipment in a couple of weeks, but our dealers can order now!

Also should mention that we will have a dozen of these at Mobile Beat that will be demo'd for a couple days and then be looking for a new home at a pretty sweet price. Anybody who wants on the list should speak now, it will be first come first serve.

Damn you!!!

<<Must restrain myself, must restrain, must not look at the dark side.........run like hell moron because you know Ben will get ya!!>>

These are great suggestions.

Question:

What do each of you use for a remote set up? (where 1 speaker/music is only need for about an hour in a different location...foyer, patio, Etc.)

And are you happy with what you use?
Pros & cons of what you use?

I used Yorkville NX55P. I hated them therefore I sold them. I plan to use The QSC k8 that I reccomened. Unless this new EV is close in price.

Wow Really? MAP $499??? Guess the EV's will be the answer.

Wish they had a small compact sub like the QSC K Sub? Maybe one is in the works?

Why are you guys so surprised with the price? They are Made in China and therefore cheaper to produce. You can buy a 19 lb Made in Italy 8 inch powered FBT speaker for the same price or a bit less. I am sure there are plenty of others available as well.

Ummm...no. Made in Morrilton, Arkansas. Get your facts straight before opening your mouth please.

My humble apologies Michael, I had QSC on the brain. I have always loved EV. You guys make some of the cleanest sounding speakers around. I can still remember the demo of the T-351 3-way passive cab from years ago. That was by far the best sounding full-range cab I had ever heard at the time, probably still is.

Look at it this way, if I didn't say anything, you wouldn't of mentioned that it was made in the good old US of A. :)

Jake

I have commented favorably for the L1 system over the years having used them and have listened to the compact in a sound room (not impressed in the least) and also heard the ZX line of speakers amazingly impressed and might have considered them than the Dyna if they had been out already. Have you heard any of the EV line or used them at a gig? Yeh I didnt think so.:sqwink::sqlaugh::sqlaugh:
You are correct. And besides half the price it's half the sound quality as well. Of course that's only based on opinion from those who own them.:sqwink:

We need some Hard Hats up in hyar, up in hyar! Things are flying around...Bose, L1s (Sounds like a missile), Bose Compacts, Bose AWMs (Another missile), EVs (A secret weapon), Low quality (A slingshot), Half price etc. Watch out! :sqeek: Yer might get hit! :sqlaugh:

No harm done...I must apologize myself for getting a little grumpy about it. NAMM has a tendancy to wear a guy down!!!

Thanks for the chance to say they are made in the USA!

Check out the Yorkville Stagepass 300 and the Yorkville Stagepass 500

Home site: http://www.yorkville.com/default.asp

Small, compact, with or without cases, mixer on back of speaker that you can take out if you wish. Store mic and cables in back of other speaker.

I use one for Karaoke on patio decks, etc.
