New Wireless Mics - GTD?

GTD is a good value for the money spent but personally, I don't care for the 4-channel units. I own about 4 of their systems; 1 4-channel and 3 2-channel. All 700-series. While the radio portion performs very well, the mics are very prone to feedback. On the bodypacks, you can buy a single ear headset for just a few bucks. It's a better option than the lavs.

All in all, they are what they are; cheap and functional.

Have you opted to only using the single ear headset instead of the lavs?

A single-ear GTD headset puts the mic element closer to the officiant's mouth and eliminates clothing or robe issues. It also seems to work better on wind noise for outdoor ceremonies. You can ride gain to catch the couples' words as well. At the very most, I'd put one on the groom but wouldn't dream of having a mic or ugly cables on the bride's pictures.

Do you have any trouble using the original lavs during indoor events, ex. a corporate presentation during a conference?

Have you checked the pad switch on your bodypack?
If it is what I am thinking you are talking about, I do think I have adjusted it, but I might need to play it more.

What headset are you using ?, I might switch to those instead of using the lavs.

It's the one that they sell. I think it was like $6.

$6 ??? Wow, when you want something, you R-E-A-L-L-Y stretch that budget. :)

I know it's ridiculous but believe it or not those mics work quite well. I bought a batch of them. Had one cable go bad so I just threw it away. The hand-helds are susceptible to feedback but the transmitters work very well and have twice the range of my name brand units. These mics are an incredible value.

Not SO ridiculous[emoji1]... I've had the same experience. I've had some feedback issues as well, but nothing I couldn't EQ out. I don't have a clue how good the mics would be if used for singing, but for speaking they work great.[emoji4]
