Ouch still though. Did that eat up what you made on the gig?

...I have a third bank account where I have my part time job direct deposit my pay into. I wrote a check out to my dentist for my 6 month check up last week thinking I had enough money in there, and also figuring that I get another direct deposit on Friday...it won't go through so fast...I had been eating out a lot and using the card lately. The appointment was on Wednesday. ...They must have electronically filed the check because it was out of my account on Thursday...I couldn't believe it went through so fast. ...My account went below zero, and I got hit with a $30 over draft fee ...I cringed...I hadn't had a check over draft fee in at least 3 years.

$30 down the toilet. ...Not as bad as your $317 down the toilet, but it really sucks to lose money for nothing.

Gig was low paying...and last thursday did a grad party and there was a bad hailstorm doing $1766 damage to my car - only $100 deductible and they'll fix it while i'm away on vacation so no real inconvenience. Hailed at the location not at home so I'm calling this more 'dj expense' in my mind.

as for the $317 cost..my insurance is costing me an add'l $205 a year (on top of my photo/biz insurance) and has a $250 deductible and a claim may have raised it my rates. I went 2 years with no DJ insurance so my perspective is I'm up $343. ($205 x 2years is $410 plus $250 deductible had I claimed it- vs $ 317 to be 'self insured' )
