After this week, I may not be checking in as much for the next few months. I have decided to take 3 classes this semester. Two online and 1 evening. I don't normally take this many, but the time is right to get the dreaded algebra out of the way. I don't remember math from high school so I anticipate difficulty. I have to take developmental, then intermediate, before I can take college algebra. I am officially a sophomore now...yippie!
My ultimate goal is to graduate before I die. No one in my family ever went to college so it is personal for me. I will be checking in as daily as I can. Sorry everyone, family time comes first...:icon_salut:  :icon_thumleft:

Good luck to you and I applaude your drive and spirit... please let us know if we can be of any help for you...

Education,,,, yep,,, wish I had me some of dat!

Family First, that's important.
Education's right up there too.
Glad to see you've got your priorities straight.
We'll do the best we can without you but hurry back.

So, when you graduate...

...are you going to be a full time paperboy?

Congrats! I also went back to school after a number of years and it was the wisest thing I ever did.

With the math, it really isn't as hard as you remember from high school. I had to do the same thing as you with the developmental math classes and made A's right through trigonometry and applied calculus. The secret with math is to do it every night. Never skip a day and think you can catch up. You can't. Math is a puzzle that must be built one step at a time in the right order. If you keep up with it everyday you'll do fine, and as I found, it can actually become, gulp, FUN.

Good for you!!!! I don't know how old you are ,...but I didn't start college until I was 24, graduated in 3 1/2 years...with a wife and child...it means more when you have to struggle/fight for your education. It is probably the most important goal I achieved in my life, and also maybe the toughest. Just to encourage you...... Algebra II was probably the toughest, and most important Math class I have ever taken....and I went through 4 semesters of Calculus, .....so taking the developmental (pre - Algebra) course is very important,..... it will make the Algebra much easier....I did the same...we called it back then "Elementary Functions" Good Luck!!!!

Congrats to you!

Congrats also from the Ball Family!

I wish I had the discipline to go back to school.

Coreen just finished with her last degree (she promised) in computer science, so I guess she will remain the "brains" of our operation.

Much success to you!

Guessing a Businees Major, Maketing emphasis? It's interesting how some schools, keep up with the changing times, and add courses like "International Business Management"; maybe one of the most important topics in the business field for the foreseeable future........?
