Rob,

Few questions.....

1. What version are you using? I'm using 3.2.1.

2. How do I change the .ini file to allow more steps in a senquence?

With the 'Random Steps' option, you can really do a nice par can setup and do very little actual programming, if that's what you want.

Create a scene with each light set up with a different color step.

For example, I have 4 Rains hooked up. I created a scene with each of them having their own step with a different color.

If just playing this chase scene back via Sound2Light and Cue, it looks pretty lame, but allow 'Random Steps' and the program just randomly selects each light with one of the random colors that you set up in the scene design, and creates a pretty nice random light chase.

Rob,

Have you tried putting your Rain's into the DMX400? Very cool as well...sound activated, with buttons to switch several programs, run in static, run in same color.....another nice feature of Freestyler. I'm really digging this program the more I'm diving into it!

the visualizer; is that the Sunlite program?

could I install this on my home pc just to fool around with it?

Yes, you can install it on your home computer and work with it until you have your dongle. That's what I've been doing.

Get the download here: http://www.freestylerdmx.be/

It will install everything that you need, including the visualizer.

Need any help, feel free to ask. The forum is also alot of help too and DirectSound on Youtube has some good vids too.

Glad to see you answered your own questions.... LOL

One thing I need to figure out is how to setup more cues than are allowed and then string them together... their seems to be a limit and honestly I haven't played with it enough to see what it really can do.

Yeah, I'm going to dive into the cue screen next....trying to figure out what all those buttons can be used for. :sqwink:

Would anyone be interested in watching me work in the software in a LIVE setting?

I recieved my dongle this afternoon and could easily turn on my Ustream & Chat room, so that we could all look at the software together.

Literally, it took me 5 minutes to hook the dongle up (XP recognized and installed drivers immediately) and had my 4 Rain56's working thru the Freestyle onboard dmx board that is has, which has about 10 different scenes already programmed in it.

I haven't tried adding any of my speciality lights to it yet, so this LIVE show would be mainly focusing on how to add the parcan to the software, add it the 3D viewer, program a few scenes, save those scenes into the Cue area where you kick them off during the show and anything else that you might have questions on.

If it's something you want to do, let me know.

That's going to be 'tricky'....

Let's aim for sometime mid next week maybe?

I have a conference call tonight with some other DJ's, tomorrow is new year's eve, then the weekend, Monday I'm likely tied up with figuring out what's up with a local DJ (long story) and Tuesday a client meeting.

I'm game for Wednesday next week though... and being after the holiday I think we might get more people.
