Hi everyone. I haven't posted in a while. Things have been a bit hectic for me. I have made the decision to back away from DJing and pursue other avenues. I won't be giving it up, altogether, but will definitely be stepping back. I still have over 25 weddings yet to do this year, but will be extremely selective going forward.

I've met a ton of friends and for that, I am eternally grateful. I ain't gettin' any younger and there are some other things I need to do before I can't. I'll still be around, just not as active.

Take care everyone, and God Bless!

Congrats on this new phase of your life Tom. Make sure you still drop in from time to time your advice and knowledge are always welcome

Good luck in your new ventures Tom.

May I ask what you will be doing?

I'm not burned out - at least, not yet. I just feel it's time to take advantage of some opportunities before I'm too old. All decisions I am making are for the benefit of my family. I'm actually pretty excited. Times are pretty good for me.

Tom:

Good luck on your future endeavors!

Please, continue visiting here and keep sharing your wealth of knowledge!

Hey Tom, good luck in whatever endeavor you choose! I've expanded my knowledge as a result of reading your posts on different chat boards, and I know you'll do well in just about anything. Don't be a stranger.

Thanks, everyone. I have signed on with a company as a sales manager, then in about six months or so, become a national sales trainer. I'll still be able to some DJing, just not the hectic schedule I've had the last few years. I'll still be around.

Thanks, Tom. And welcome to the good life.

Cutting back ain't an easy decision to make. Shirl and I semi-retired last year. We miss it in a way. In other ways, we don't. :)

Tom isn't that Merry...

Bet of luck Tom! Keep a music CD in your jacket pocket to chew on when you get the DJ urge. Or you can just log on here and chat to us using your new Blackberry at work(heehee)...thx :icon_thumright:

Just for the record, I am not going to work for Peter Merry.

Also, I talked to Mad Joe Martin yesterday, and he warned me NOT to call it a semi-retirement - at least, not outside of these boards. It's the kiss of death. I can see his point.
