Y'er speakers need more spread. j/k. What kind of speakers are they? I like the facade. Is that 3 light bars behind the facade?

I spread them as far as I could... :dontknow: :sqwink: :triwink:

On top, EV ZX5s....underneath EV Eliminator mains and subs.

During dinner music I just ran the ZX5s (which I had to point out as the guests are all seated on the 2 sides of the room on the left and right) and then when we needed more fullness and volume I brought the others into the mix.

Wasn't pleased with the setup (thought it could have been neater) as the B&G were an hour late in arriving on Friday night which cut into our setup time....

Mr. Randy Allen built the facade for me. Yes, there are 3 Mini-Colorstrips behind it.

Don't you hate it when the B/G think that the shows all about them? I'm getting ready to try the Live X speakers. Didn't you get some Live X's?

No, I was considering them but have put all major purchases on hold for now until cash reserves are such that I can feel right about buying new speakers. I'll probably end up going with the TourX.

Right now we're just purchasing minor stuff, new cords, new speaker stands and some kind of Scrim covers, etc..

We've also got a few photography items that need to be purchased. We just bought a portable power pack to see how we like using it in lieu of just burning through major amounts of batteries in the flashes. We gave it a trial run this past 2 weekends and we'll be ordering another one since it performed better than we expected....I belive they run about $500 each... So when those things get taken care of then we'll consider the upgrade (and hopefully final) to the PA gear.

LOL... The B&G were nice people, but definitely not "organized"....no matter how hard we tried to keep them on pace.....it just didn't happen.

Like Fred here says..."It's like herding wild cats." :triwink:

You need more firepower Kirby one or two rounds from a .44 should get them moving and back into the program yorofl:

I definitely understand. Usually I end up using everything I got until it dies. I think I'm actually in a good position right now with the equipment I currently have - I could have several shows simultaneously. Considering, I'm kind of in a position where I can play a little. I currently use the QSC K12's - I wanted something lighter than what I had - Peavey SP2's.

Nah, I'd need more than that...This was Redneck (and I mean that in the nicest way) Country. The boys had their cammo vests and instead of tux shoes, they all wore either their cowboy boots or work boots. I'll bet I would have needed a bazooka to outgun them..... :triwink:

..... I actually finally sold a pair of Peavey SP2As (friggin boat anchors and indestructable) along with another set of Peavey TLS and a pair of EV mains to clear out the garage this summer.

I've drank the EV kool-aid.....(All my amps are EV also)....Now I just need to switch my mics over to EV and I'll be set, huh?

One word:

Howitzer yorofl:

My SP2's and Precision 115 (I think that's what the cabs are) are ROCK SOLID and weight about as much as an anchor. The 115's have been reloaded with Black Widow's and have been knocked over once. No cab damage whatsoever. They keep right on rockin'! For Mic's I use Senn's. I have a pair of EV ZX1's that I used for small events and backups - and they have taken a beating, powerwise, and kept on rockin'! Recently, I stepped up to the K12's and I have loved them (for the most part). Now, I'm getting ready to try the Live X stuff (with Thanks to our beloved NLFX staff - Kat & Ben! and thanks to Cam). I don't drink too much Kool Aid.

Honestly Kirb your ZX5 tops are as good as it gets. Getting the Tour X would be taking one step back in my opinion. The ZX5 passives are great speakers.
