Alan, that is one well thought out and sweet setup. One concern...it looks like the laptop base is surrounded by grey carpet with no room for air circulation.

Have you ever had overheating problems with your laptop?

Again, congrats on a rig you can be proud of!

Thank You. I have never had a problem with overheating (I use 3 different laptops) with any of my lappy's.... even when I play outdoors for pool parties and such.

Alan- Nice console. How do you roll that in. Doe they break up in peices?

I simply roll up the cables and place them in the bottom unit, and "roll away". The unit does break down into to 2 pieces via the latches on the side (pic 1).
I design and build my own consoles and specifically designed it that way just in case I needed to transport it in my Tahoe or negotiate unplanned setups (stairs), which I have done once in the last 3 years.

Here are a couple more Pics....

Packed up and ready to roll view.. (well, use your imagination for the cables and such on in the bottom, this pic was taken as I was building it, lol)

Top cover used as a table behind me, should the need arise.

Now that is a sweet looking rack. The only thing I would've done different was make it black instead of grey carpeting. Nicely done!

Looks heavy though. I assume you have a truck with a ramp?

Thank You. I used to make them with "Black" carpet, however, IMHO they look better with the dark gray. The black shows EVERY bit of dust and foreign substances. And, as you can see in this pic, when the lights are down low, you really can"t tell the difference.

It is not anywhere as heavy as it looks. A lot of the weight is cut during construction (can't give away my trade secrets, LOL).

I have a van that I use and no, I don't have a ramp. Just lift one end up, and then the other and roll it in the van. No fuss.

Alan, what subs are those with the little blue lights?

It's not much but I think I've got a good start. Need to work on a new rack case in which I've gotten a lot of great ideas from here. Thanks a lot guys!!

Front loaded Mackies? Nah...
Paradise, how do you like those Growlers? Ever used them at a high school dance?

i love the growler....there the best small sub i've heard yet......they're great for high school dances because kids love bass and u can hear every note when they go low, not just boom.

eezee... I guess "heavy" has to be defined by each of us individually. We always have 2 DJs per show... so it's not terribly bad. Those booths you are looking at in the pic are about 120lbs per side, but they roll.

We use 6 different stage set ups... they vary in size of speakers, lighting, etc... but that booth is always the same for every stage set up. YES, we are a mobile DJ, but on a little bigger scale than some consider "mobile"!

We've actually weighed each of the 6 stage set ups... without trailer weight, the smallest weighs in at around 1,100 lbs, and the largest at around 1,600 lbs.

Here is my set-up that I used for a Sweet Sixteen/Valentines Dance three weeks ago
