Well I'm not joing this deal because I'm not as motivated as yopu all are, but I should be, I'm just not...

But I've been doing little things to get my weight down that last few months and the biggest thing is drinking Diet Coke instead of regular...

That was like 5 pounds almost from go,,, so I am happy there...

also been doing a better job of after the gig not going thru Taco Bell and going into a store for a snack like apples and crackers...water

again not a big thing but in the last three months, I've lost 12 pounds without really doing a lot....

I have two regulation golf courses within 500 yards of my house. :sqembarrassed:

I'm not motivated either...I'm just playing along so I can be part of the cool group...and so Papa can feel the joy of believing that he is truly completing me :p.

I'm basically continuing what I am already doing...hey, I lost TEN pounds, have I not?

But I guess I'm at least a LITTLE bit more motivated, as I will continue to post my progess for all to see.

But I have to eat those turtles...and I have even more boxes of chocolate...I just don't know what they are, yet.

And I'm going out for dinner tonight...and I'm going out for dinner on Sunday night.

Aw, I suck.

I should have read this thread sooner. I started my diet again yesterday.
(01/02/07). I checked this evening and I am down 4 lbs so far. I expect to peel off about 10 lbs the first week.

The last time I was on this diet I lost 40 lbs in about 5 months.

I was going to go into more detail but my wife wanted to tell me a story so I cut my post short.
(You know how woman can get when they think a man is not paying attention and just playing with their toys) hehe.:sqwink:

Anyway. I am doing the Adkins diet again. Its the only diet that I have found where I can eat till I am full and still loose the weight. I really just don't eat as much because I don't like most of the food all that well. Well, until Sandy starts cooking for me again. She makes some great Adkins recipes. Everything from pork rind lasagna to peanut butter shakes.

I think this is the 3rd time I have done this. The first two times I did manage to loose about 10 lbs the first week.
 
That's great thanks for the info! I am going to look into the book.

I tried the weight watchers thing about 6 months ago. Had a really hard time with going to the meetings. I felt like saying "Hi my name is Carolyn and I have a big butt" I went to two meetings, although my sister did really well on WW, not for me.

I have another friend who did South Beach lost 150 lbs., she looks awesome.
 
Having tried most any diet..and most of the pay to diet......The only way to lose weight and successfully keep it off is first......don't call it a diet...
It's all about eating sensibly, smaller portions, exercising and staying the course...
Starving yourself ain't gonna do it. Atkins - I'v just read too many scary things about it....
Ther is no magical cure, but lots of hard work and committment...
Even the Biggest Loser...look at the massive weight loss experienced in a relatively short period of time...I'd venture that most will have trouble maintaining that loss (last years winner lookes as if he gained most of it back.....)
First two days have sucked for me.....No motivation.....I've got a gig next week (university party) That might change things....

I probably won't make much progress in losing weight in the first week, but I have got myself down to 1 (no larger than 20 oz.) soda per day, as I need my caffeine and don't like tea or coffee and diet soda gives me headaches.

I made myself a promise - to only weigh myself once a week.... so I haven't checked my totals yet, but my one shirt is definitely looser than it was 2 weeks ago.
 
So I'm back down to Prior Christmas Weight 220
I have plateaued at this weight for the Last year it's been between 218 & 220

We'll see in the coming weeks if I can Break this
