I di an evbent awhile back that had this, maybe not this brand, but the same thing... it was a kick in the butt! Added fun and silliness at a time when it could just be boring.

In social, classroom, or team building environments I can see that, but most of my audio work is civic, corporate, and public facing events. It's all down to business and there's no room to be frivolous. The CEO or Governor for example, is not going to be tossing one of these around at a press conference, and especially not if any portion of it will be televised.

In a hybrid video setting the random nature of the tossing would be difficult to follow with anything less than three cameras and a dedicated TD calling the shots which will quickly drive up the price tag.

I think the best use is the one in the promo images - in a classroom as an ice breaker or a hot potato way of forcing students to participate in the dialogue. Thing is, that's typically going to be a space already equipped with an automated DSP - no sound person required.

They had a "Throw Mike" at the event I did last night.

It was okay. Mike wore a helmet and the target was padded.
