I think the list should be updated....

So are you saying that DJeventPlanner is using DJintellience"s lists? Or do you not realize they are two different entitites?

I mis-read the initial posting. I've been using DJ Intelligence listings for many years. Guess I should check out DJ Event Planner.

Has anyone matched the two lists (Planner and Intelligence) to see how different they might be?

You also can't go wrong by having the Billboard Top 100 lists from 1950 until the current year. The initial lists from the 1950s I believe were top 30 lists but lets face it DJ needs for early 50s music is dwindling fast. I too use other sources like DJ Intelligence but more often than not it is the customers I find who let you know what they want to hear come dance time....

I do wish there was an easy way to "buy" some of these charts (especially the classic ones) .. pool covers almost all new stuff, but prior to 2005, I'm not as deep as I'd like. I probably have a good chunk, if not most of 90's, 80' 70s, 60s charts, but I would love a way to buy the Billboard 100 or the AT40 song lists for years or decades .. from Amazon, from Google, from iTunes ... one fell (hopefully lower cost) swoop.

I feel ya. I'm working on filling in 'motown' or R&B if you prefer a broader name for it. You'd think someone would have made a best of or something that truly had the top songs.

Charts by decade will probably be my goal this year. When I book a HS reunion I usually go chase down 5 years worth of songs.

The sad part is you can get it all on a torrent quite easily yet no one seems to want to sell it as a collection. The labels just don't want to learn

For the oldies, not sure they sell a lot .. would be a benefit to all if you could buy say the 1972 Top 40 for $25 or so.

It would be a lot more convenient too. I've bought a lot of music I already had because it was easier and quicker to download or rip than it was to take it directly off a record...Likely better quality too. If I could get a year for $25 at a good bitrate and tagged I'd buy everything from '53 to present day. The time I've put in over the years was worth much more than $1600 let alone the money spent
