New feature in 4.2. I could disable it but I do have it set to bump the thread.

Rick, I was able to flush the notice but they're still technically unread so whenever you update a PM it recounts the unread ones. Do me a favor click on page 2 of your PM box and send me a the URL in the address bar.

If there's a &pp= (per page) in the URL, you can manually change that number to show 999 at a time then bulk mark as read that way.

You have to click the little icon next to the thread title to go the the first unread. That's been the default since vB 4.

You're right I could but when the cron runs that recalculates thanks it will like reset all my manual monkeying around. I'm going to do it the rep way this way I know it won't be recounted unless I manually recalculate.

BTW Danno, I can't stand the rep system. All the corn huskers kept repping each other, and they have a zillion rep points, but not that many likes or thanx. I won't mention any names (like Randy, Kirby and Rob -- hehehe)... :love-struck:

I capped that last night. The rep system has to stay enabled so each thanks = 1 rep point but the maximum amount of rep points anyone can acrew now is 10 points. So no more 200 point bumps in one shot.

I've never given anyone Rep points specifically. I always just thought that was attached to the amount of thanks someone got. Are we supposed to be giving people both? I would guess most like me don't do anything with that?

The rep system is pretty antiquated. Basically it works where the more reputation points you have, the more reputation power you have.

Say you have 5000 reputation points. If you rep someone it may bump their reputation by say 500 points. It would otherwise take them 500 thanks to get the same amount of rep.
