About $80........ :)

I've been reading up on these for a few months but haven't made it into a store to see & buy them yet. The ColorPalette is almost 3 times brighter having 1,334 lux (at 3 feet) from its 288 leds vs 560 lux from the 192 leds in the Techno RGB. They both seem to work as a wash, but in front facing use the CP has more control options. The Techno has different effects and not being as bright may be a better option for smaller spaces where the CP could be almost blinding.

Hopefully someone here that owns them and can chime in with real world use differences. There are some videos on youtube about the techno rgb, but they aren't a deep as this one on the ColorPalette YouTube - Chauvet Colorpalette Product Review

I have the Techno Strobe RGB and use them as my wash lighting.

Another DJ in the area bought the Palette so we compared lights. The only differences that we can see is the Palette has one program that will run a square around the light, within the light corner to corner, and Techno Strobe doesn't. The Techno has dip switches; the Palette has buttons. They do basically the same thing. The Techno came out first and the Palette was the up grade. I chose to stick with the Techno light because I already had them and didn't think it was worth the money to up grade. These lights will not chase/run from light to light. I use my Techno with a DMX controller. The Palette seems to be easier to set the colours if you don't know DMX. (Watch above video.)

If you're looking for wash lighting, consider the "Chauvet Colorstrip". They came out after the Techno and Palette. They wash and chase from colorstrip light to colorstrip. I would have bought them.

However, I've just discovered the American DJ Fusion FX Series. (There are 4 of them.) I would have bought them inside of the Techno, Palette or Colorstrip. They all wash and move, but the Fusion FX Series does a little more. Check them out on You Tube to see the difference.

I was considering the Colorstrip but some reviews had them as a pain in the a55 to pack because of the length, although they are awesome wash lights, and can do chase and other cool stuff.

I eventually purchased the Chauvet Colorbank LED DMX. It is much shhorter in length, can do DMX, and it comes with a bracket so if you had 2 units, you can combine them to have a wash light that is as long as the colorstrip and as bright.

Heres the link and there is a picture showing 2 of them with the bracket that combines them into a single unit. I assume if you had three units, you can combine them to make an even longer wash light, pretty neat. And with the shorter length, its easier to transport too.

I bought 2 of the techno strobe rgb's because I couldn't justify the cost difference. If they cost the same I would buy the palette for the added power and the wow factor of having 8 separate blocks of color for programming. However, the techno is bright enough to throw light about 20 feet which is all I need and I wouldn't want it to be much brighter for facing the dance floor as it's almost a blinder if you are in the beam with the lights only about 7 feet high in the small spaces that I set up. If you are lighting a large dance floor (or a gym) and have the light 10 feet up on a truss, the palette would probably be a better choice.
