Weddings When Guests Enter Ballroom from Separate Cocktail Room?

I continue with cocktail music and change over to dinner music after the wedding party has been introduced, unless the B&G are still mingling before the meal or buffet is ready. On some occasions, the B&G have gone directly to the dance floor for their First Dance upon being introduced. In which case, since the dance floor has been "opened" due to the B&G having done the first dance, I will play a mixture of cocktail/dinner/love songs. It has happened more than once in this scenerio where the dance floor was opened early that guests have gotten up from dinner table and danced to slow songs. Somewhat irregular, but if the song is a personal and sentamental favorite they will dance.

Never "too" mellow... I try to keep it upbeat and somewhat lively.....

depends on how much time between guests entering the dining room and the b/g being announced.
if it's not too long (10-minutes?)
I like to not play ANYTHING.
It keeps the guests from getting too rowdy, which can delay the whol introduction
and adds a little tension so the intros are more impressive
