Ding Ding. Winner Winner chicken dinner. When I'm logged into Google this site shows up at the top for almost anything DJ related because I'm always on here.
Yes, moving on.

:)

Side note @Big Dan , Firefox is not allowing me to post anymore. Using Chrome at the moment.

I'll log in with Firefox here shortly. I did do an upgrade last week that changed some javascript files. Have you hard refreshed?

  • Borrowed and Blue www.borrowedandblue.com about $50 a month
  • Gigmasters - just signed their free account... gonna play with it a little more before deciding on paid accounts
  • weeding.com was with them for 9 months... not one lead or response after sending quotes to 40 potential (fake - cough) clients after the first 6 months they did give me the 6 months free option... now sending me a full refund.... after much discussion
  • WeDJ www.wedj.com about $120 a year... mostly for the access to www.gigbuilder.com which in my opinion is well worth it. I have had several customers comment on liking and using the tools that are integrated into my own site.
  • Thumbtack www.thumbtack.com You should be selective about which ones you buy (I am using the "pay-per-lead" method), but it seems to be landing me more and more jobs... just landed 2 more within the last 30 days using them
  • Craigslist... been using them for about 3 years... and like Jas now trying the a la Rick method
  • GigSalad - www.gigsalad.com free listing
  • WeddingWire - www.weddingwire.com- free listing
  • MyWedding - www.mywedding.com - free listing
  • OneWed - www.onewed.com - free listing
  • WedPlan - www.wedplan.com - free listing
  • facebook
  • twitter
  • Own website www.rcbaudio.com - free hosting with google... only pay the fees for the domain name
  • Eventective - www.eventective.com - pay per lead (only $2.50 each) but it has more than paid for itself... probably about 5 - 6 gigs each year
  • Word of mouth also seems to be picking up more
  • Agreements with some photographers and photo booth operators.
  • Have made a few preferred vendors lists recently and those places have also allowed me to place rack cards at their venues

Wow great list of sites! Thanks! I never had any luck with Thumbtack. I have a wedj gold account for gigbuilder and leads but not much there. Most of my business comes from word of mouth referrals.

I use a paid listing on gigmasters, $200 per year. I also pay about $55/mth for a basic paid listing on weddingwire. FYI, the freebie listing on weddingwire will not show up in DJ searches by brides. You have to pay to show up.

Does gigmasters work for you? I was also looking at Gigsalad paid listings but not sure it's worth it unless you paid top price.

I think Gigsalad is useless for DJs. Tried it for a while with zero results. I've been on Gigmasters for a number of years. It produces a handful of gigs per year. I'll add in that I only think it's useful if you do NOT let them handle the booking part for you. Any time I get a lead in, I subject a $1 quote with a note telling them "We have numerous packages. A separate quote will be sent." I then book it myself. I think it's $200 annually.

What's your number ... 867-5309 ???

ask for Jenny ;)

QR code in the ad I bought a six month trial for $600, and booked 4 gigs directly from it within the first 3 months, over $3500 in bookings from $600 ad that's good ROI in my book

I often wondered how those ads would work. You have a captured audience for sure

Does anyone use Eventective? I've used them but it's pay-per-lead ($2.50). It appeared that they would send bogus leads. I think last year I may have booked only 1 or maybe 2 gigs through them. Once they determine the kind of gigs you go after, that's when the bogus one begin to surface.

I tried it and ditched it. Same thing. Seemed I got a handful of actual leads, but they were low-ball gigs. Then the volume picked up and based on the non-responses it was my impression they were faked.

I'm trying them too. So far nothing much. A few leads but a lot of them are bogus.

Mack/Nightmare, how many reviews do you have on WW? Did you get the basic-level paid, mid or high level? Also, how many other guys are listed in your area? As a long-time WW advertiser, I can tell you that unless you have a significant number of reviews, WW usually won't turn up many leads. If you're in an area with a lot of DJs, you'll also be hard pressed to get any out of a basic (paid) listing. The freebie listing is worthless as it doesn't even show up on bride searches, FYI.

You have a typo on the last remark:

Thanks Robin! I know you guys will have a wonderful live together!

"life"?

15 reviews is a good number. They might actually turn some leads for you. When I hit 40 is when I really started noticing an uptick in people making comment about how many reviews I had. All perfect 5s is impressive but keep in mind you may start having comments about it not being real, later on. A ding every now and then keeps it believable. Great job.
