So, you're saying I have to start using an actual DJ software?
iTunes works just as well as Winamp for many purposes.
If you don't need beat matching it can handle events just fine once you adjust your settings to your liking.

I do take a lot of guff for using winamp but really, I hate to hear this. I don't do any beat-mixing and generally let songs play full length. I use the auto-crossfade function and it handles transitions beautifully. The main things I like though is that it's drop-dead simple and it never, ever, ever crashes (although I have had a memory problem crash a machine before). At gigs, I always run 2 laptops and have both loaded with the major event songs. As soon as I start a track on the main unit, I start it on the 2nd. After the major event songs are over, I put the 2nd unit on a Sinatra piece thru dinner (looping the track) then put it on a hip-hop piece during dance (also looped). If anything should happen with the primary, I can just push the fader up on the 2nd. Back onto winamp, it's absolutely incredible at the sheer number of options you have on tweaking the configuration. Guess all good things come to end though. Wonder if VDJ is gonna choke my basic boxes?
I don't know if I want to let iTunes loose on my host system. It really irks me that it (or it's 'helper' plugin) always runs in the background.iTunes radio isn't too bad .. give it a whirl.
For just casual listening I prefer Media Monkey. Great library tools and some useful tag management tools.
iTunes radio is pretty awesome. Pretty much like Pandora. Thanks for nudging to give it a shot. iTunes Radio used to be featureless listing of Shoutcast streams.iTunes radio isn't too bad .. give it a whirl.
