As an example.. I am still downloading from idjpool.com and I have already downloaded over 9000 titles (many are duplicates.. acapellas, instrumentals, explicit, clean, squeaky clean, etc) and NONE of them have genres. I don't have the luxury of just editing the 500 or so tracks I don't agree with. I am REQUIRED to add the Genres for ALL of them. I am assuming there are 20,000+ songs available to me, and $50 is a great deal for the initial month, but do you know how long it will take me to add all of those genres? At least if Eminem is tagged as hip-hop in one track and rap in another.. I wouldn't have to worry about adding all of the track genres. I could live with that and edit them as necessary.

Like Sisco said, if they left off the artist, album, and other fields, you could re-tag those as well .. but WHY would I want to. I expect some basics and they're not there .. it's my only gripe with the service ...

wow, that is so weird, every single thing I have downloaded from them is completely tagged....I just updated the billboard file this morning, and everything is fully tagged

None of mine are tagged with Genre and I have the entire billboard and top 40 downloaded. They are not tagged with Album either, but I rarely have to search album tags, but being able to search by genre is very important to what I do.

How did you download? I used the ftp client and Genre and BPM are not given for any song in iDJPool.

I am downloading via FTP too.. Using the recommended FlashFXP.

tag and rename or other sources available can often locate the proper song or file group and you will golden. I dont have this service so I dont know if this will work. We get a side subscription to a Canadian service that doesnt tag their offerings either but we load it into the software and on occasion it will find the tracks magically. Im not denying the inconvenience just hoping to help make it less painful.

Here is what I would do if I were you...instead of downloading a whole variety of songs all at one to one folder, I would do one genre at a time. You should know what songs belong to what genre. This way you can tag the entire folder as a batch. This is how I do with my downloads. The ones I get are tagged sometimes incorrectly and I always have to Name them, Artist and Title properly. For example this is how it would be saved if I did not first it correctly. E.G. madonnafeat.nickiminajm.i.a.-givemeallyourluvin-clean So before I save it I copy and paste the actual name to the save as : Madonna feat. Nicki Minaj & M.I.A. - Give Me All Your Luvin (Clean). I don't view that as a problem at all. When I download Music I may sometimes do about a hundred on a weekly basis. Every day I get new music to review but I allow it to pile up until I have the time.

That's a little hard to do..

IDJPool\BILLBOARD HOT 100 (Updated Weekly)\04-15-2012 to 04-21-2012 (Week 16)

IDJPool\CLASSICS\2000's\2008\ROCK - POP - AC

It's not like they are organized by 'genre'.

It's not a biggy. I will just have to set some time aside to do what needs to be done.

Not to jump off one topic and on to another one we were discussing (too late), but one of the biggest things I love about this pool, and over subscription services, is that if you need something, you can just get it. You can download any tracks at any time, unlike normal pools and subscription services that send you a disc (or make a downloads area available) on a monthly or weekly basis. If he put it out 2 years ago you can still go back and get it.
I honestly can't tell you how many times I have needed a track or instrumental that came out like a year or more ago, and it was readily available.

whoa. did you say all genres from 1950??? I have NEVER found that in a pool!!!

Right now I use ZipDJ. Love them but of course it's only new releases and going back to whenever they started somewhere in 00's.

Yeah I had to put together a "mix" for my sister's 50th birthday party, and they had a bunch of stuff I needed from the 50's and 60's. I still had to look around for some on Amazon and such, but the most popular stuff was there for sure.

Very cool. Since I posted in this thread, I've been emailing back and forth with them. They did give me a listing of their library, but it didnt contain anything beyond 2010 - but I'm not sure it was a complete list.

That definitely wasn't a complete list. They have pretty much everything that came out from 2011 and 2012 as far as dance, urban, and pop goes. Email dave and tell him Jynxx sent you to them, and he may give you more info. I don't know why he wouldn't show you 2010-2012, but like I said... just tell him I sent you and he will probably be more forthcoming.

the 80s, 90s and 2000s collections are very good....but the 50s, 60s and 70s stuff was severely lacking, plus there is ZERO country stuff (I think the 2011 country folder had less than 100 songs in it)....

If you are looking for remixes and instrumentals, this service is very good....but if do mainly weddings, the yearly $144 Hot 100 / Top 40 option is the best way to go.

I never had to look for Country, but in response to JamesY, anything prior to 2010 is in the "Classics" section under the "2000's" folder. Each year from 2000 to 2009 has it's own folder.

For instance, the "URBAN" folder in "2009" has over 5700 songs in it.
