If you use software based DMX, I would think it'd be pretty easy. However, I use a hardware controller, so that would require me to arrive early enough to program it. I can also take manual control of the lights (via a joystick) if I so choose.

Question for Wes (or anyone who uses scanners). Let's say I use 2 scanners, on either side of the dance floor. How am I going to sync them to both shoot at the entrance spot, then have them also hit together on the dance floor? Is this possible?

Best bet - software based. I use Freestyler and it's very easy. Just a short time programming after all is set up, and you're good to go. You can have standing scenes labeled "Entrance", "Cake Cutting", "Toast", First Dances", etc...and just overwrite them at each venue.
