Rob, I know DJ's who have used radio spots before with little or no success. If you go though with this please let us know your results. Good Luck.

Oh yeah, tell em "I'm your Hoosier DJ" Sounds kinda down home and your proud to be from Indiana.

I'm with Paul. They always sound like some overblown truck rally ad. Besides, many people are using sat radio or Iheart, etc. Many are ad free.
I surf stations on the road during commercials. Most commercials are annoying and repetitive.

Besides the rant, you seem to be booked every week. So, what's the point? You are doing it right already.

As someone in radio I would agree with Audio One, put your money online. In order to get results in radio you need frequency which means consistency in advertising. That rule applies across all media but advertising online is a little more budget friendly. If you google Indians DJ's wedj.com comes up 7th. As Indiana is a big state you might want to google DJ's in (big city near you) and see what comes up. Whoever does advertise with them.

Sorry, Rob..
I get paid to write radio ads every day.
You aint getting NOTHNG for free!
Seriouslt, tho...
are you looking to run a few radio ads, or just asking a question?

Been there, done that, good thing it was trade and not actual money spent! Even though it was prime with frequency, no inquiries. It may work as a reinforcement as a part of a MAJOR marketing blitz.

Yeah, it's funny. In my 30-years here, I have made many ads for DJ services....
and have never heard of a good response from running them.
Come to think of it, Doug...they were ALL trade for bridal shows.
You need to spend like a major corporation to heard, but even then you are still only talking about a small percentage of listeners who may be looking for a DJ at the very time your ad is running.
