All laptop's here. Since I have been doing mainly video & Karaoke for years most media players don't cover all the formats. I remember looking at my system one day, CD players, cd+g players, laserdisc players, DVD players, & now Blu-ray could be replaced by one unit. Sold off all my CD-players except for my Denon 1000 which I kept. Along with my Pioneer DVJ-X1s I kept too for showing movies during our Outdoor Movie events. Laptops trend to be open ended and easy to transport and pretty reliable. I'd say the biggest change I've noticed is my use of iPads for everything else office related. I find myself doing everything else on the iPad now and hardly touching any of my laptops unless I am performing or at a event.

I agree about the iPad. I rarely use the laptops outside of DJing

Laptop here as well and Ipad as backup. During a ceremony my Iphone is also plugged into my mixer (other location). And running in airplane mode, It literally saved my ass this year. When the power went off at a ceremony spot and came right back up about 1 minute before the recessional. Though the laptop did not go down. The mixer did not recognize my laptop quick enough. I had the recessional already cued up on the phone and Boom played it from there. )

What is amazing is many years ago this would not have even been a topic to discuss. My how things have changed. Some for the good and even though things have become modern it can be for the bad as well. I have 2 laptops. One for backup duty.

It's very likely that will be possible... but won't it look funny (odd)[emoji1]...

... not that looking funny is a problem for you.[emoji1]

No .. DJing will become more band leader like .. I wave my arms and cue up music bits .. wave them some more and things happen ... Wait until you see the way I play disco songs.

And yes, I've never had an issue looking funny.

In 5 years, I'll be DJing off my watch.

I replaced the computer in my bedroom with a stick PC. I only really used the computer to play music (as I'm going to sleep). The stick PC plays music from my server without a hitch, but it had pretty crappy sound. I bought a USB Soundblaster, and that fixed the audio quality problems, but it's almost the same size as the stick PC, and I have to use a USB hub so I can connect them. The size is still significantly smaller than a computer, and MUCH quieter. I don't think it would take much to get a good sound card and a decent computer on something the size of a watch.[emoji4]

I have used a Numark D2 Director from the beginning. (of my digital career)
It's a basic dual mp3 player.
The laptop is for small gigs, and background music gigs.
