Those are some nice headphones... better than the Audio Technica headphones I use for DJing. I'm gonna order some, but doubt I'll end up getting them. Every time I order a sale item from Best Buy, it ends up on back order, and after a couple of weeks, they just cancel the order. I keep saying I won't buy from the bastards again[emoji1], but then I do.

How about that???[emoji1]... THEY SHIPPED!!!... Already left the FedEx facility in SHAKOPEE, MN. As long as they don't go through Hutchins, TX, I should receive them tomorrow![emoji1]

Somebody should have taken me up on that bet... you woulda won! I probably would have welched on it anyway.[emoji1]

Just got out of the hot tub and looked out the front door, and the package was sitting on the chair on the porch. I'm gonna see how I like them here in a few minutes; I'll let you know. Gotta fire up my DJ system.:djsmug:

Funny story, and maybe TMI (so stop reading if that kinda thing bothers you), but I'm still laughing about it. The pic I posted was the second attempt.

Like I said, I just got out of the hot tub and had a towel wrapped around me when I went out and grabbed the package off the porch. I opened the package and placed the headphone box on my dining room table to take a picture to post. I was cropping and resizing the picture when I noticed what looked like a strange object in the headphone box. It looked like a... IT WAS!!![emoji1] I had dropped the towel so I could use both hands to hold the camera, not realizing there was a reflection of me (about waist high) in the plastic window of the headphone box. Made it look like there was a woohoo in the box![emoji3] Good thing I realized it before I posted that pic![emoji1] I might have been banned for life![emoji1]

I've been using these new Sennheiser headphones for about an hour now, and I like them! Mind you, I don't have a lot to compare them to.[emoji4] The headphones I've been using are an older model of Audio Technica headphones (can't recall the model number) very similar to the ATH-M40x. They're good headphones, and have served me well for three years.

There are some notable differences. First, the fit. The cups of my AT's are smaller and padded with a vinyl material. They smush my ears and they're hot. They get a little uncomfortable at times. The HD558's have larger cups and the padding is covered with a soft felt material. Not as hot, and they don't smush my ears. Much more comfortable. The HD558's DO smush my hair, causing a weird hat hair affect around my ears. That may not be an issue for some.[emoji1]

The cord on the HD558's is considerably longer. I would have preferred a coiled cable, but my AT's don't have a coiled cable either.

In comparing the quality of the sound, the differences are subtle. The HD558's are much clearer across the full range of frequencies. At first I thought that just the bass was clearer, but the highs and mids sound a little clearer too. The AT's still sound pretty good, but the HD558's are just a little better. Makes me realize, though, my original choice was not too bad.

My AT's originally retailed for around $100. I got them on sale for $69.95 at Christmas time almost three years ago. These HD558's retail for around $150 and I got them for less than half that, so they were a MUCH better deal.

Neither of these headphones sound as good as my Bose Noice Canceling headphones, but they're good for DJing. I'll use the HD558's from now on because of the comfortable fit and the longer cord.[emoji4]

I keep my headphones in the drawer of my rack, so that's where I put my HD558's. I put my Audio Technica headphones in my gig bag. Is it CRAZY to carry two sets of headphones? Anybody else carrying backup headphones?[emoji1]

I'm thinkin' it's not as crazy as taking a picture of your foot!!!:laugh:

So in the package I got from Best Buy, which contained my new Sennheiser HD558 headphones, was a little piece of paper with this message...

Not sure why??? No battery in the package. No battery in the headphone box. No battery in the headphones. I searched and searched!:laugh:
