I did the event this past Saturday and got a text message from the chairperson this morning. He said the committee liked the music I played. That made me feel good. I always worry about what people think of the job I did at an event. That's my perfectionism getting in the way. So it looks like when they have another event and need a DJ they will call me. My friend said that will be next year. I told him they will have another event long before next year. I'm glad I talked my partner into bringing the 2 Yamaha tops and Yorkville sub. It pays to have good equipment to work with. No matter how good you are as a DJ, if your equipment sucks it will not make up for how good you are as a DJ.
i knew the room because I had been there twice with my friend doing a dance there. So I knew you had to come in with some serious sound and not something that would sound like a boombox. The funny thing is the chairperson had us put the sub on the stage. No arguing with him. I certainly am not used to putting a sub on a stage. Just had to adjust the volume on the sub so it wasn't overkill. It sounded great! It's always great to get someone to compliment you on the job you did. I didn't think I did that great a job but others including my partner and my friend said other wise. I think adding the lights to the event was a nice touch that they are not used to.
