While I don't think you have to wear a tux to look "professional", I think that you should at least smile and have your hands out of your pockets.
But we are rebels, anyway.
The picture you're referring to was taken at a bridal show about 1 hour before it was scheduled to begin. At gigs I never have my hands in my pocket and often smile and look positive

A photographer snapped it at a bridal show, I wasn't planning on having my picture taken, otherwise I would have looked to the side and wrinkled my eyebrows funny like in my avatar pic. haha.

A couple of suggestions, I'd use the same background on each page. Possibly given the basic layout of your site use a frame for navigation.

It makes navigation seem more fluid, if I didn't know better I'd think I was at a different website. Think about.. If every time you clicked a link on this website you seen a different background.. Wouldn't you say wtf?

Hey Glen nice to see you here. I notice disturbing similarities between you're site and the USODJA site... that wouldn't be because you bulid both would it?
At any rate, your sites always look good it's nice to have another "net smart" guy on board.
BTW: The "is cheaper better" video is great.
Yes it was one of the many sites I created, they have a new webmaster, maybe they can get creative now, I know CODJA did, they just revamped their entire site.... I am out of that end of it now... someday I will update mine...lol
