Call yourselves whatever you'd like ... We've already formed our own opinions anyway.

She sells seashells ...

Steve

I could of sworn i saw the word "livelihood" in that definition you quoted from webster.
Yes .. "participating for gain or livelihood in an activity or field of endeavor often engaged in by amateurs" .. livelihood is certainly one option .. just not the only one.

It is in my book when setting the standard on who is a professional or not.

You have your opinion and i have mine. My opinion comes from knowing that when you do this DJ thing as your liveihood many of the things you see on DJ boards are untrue and unrealistic in order to survive.

Peace Steve you know where i am coming from and where I stand.

I should know better by now.

Congratulations .. that's basically every Saturday and Sunday and 17 additional ones thrown in so far.

Peace Steve you know where i am coming from and where I stand. End of this June it will be 69 wedding receptions completed by me so far this year some can grasp that and others will never grasp that.

That's sorta hard to grasp, considering there have only been roughly 22 weekends this year so far. So, let's say you did 2 each weekend -- that would equal 44. So I'm guessing you are doing weddings on Mondays and Tuesdays...?

I find this BS humorous... xf:D

I understand where you guys are coming from with your responses but i saw someone said they had 21,000 inquires during the year for his DJ service but not one person questioned how it could be done.............Why is that?

Here we go again...................................LOL

Ok, show us the receipts for your "69" weddings so far this year -- I'm sure you pay taxes and all, so you shouldn't have any issue with that.

Maybe I can help. Few reasons why no one believes you:

The writing of your character has some flaws

1)Anyone that had the ego of this online character you've created would not want to hide their identity. This character would want everyone to look at them and admire that they are booking and doing that many events . This character would be shouting their name from the hilltops. Your hiding, while making these amazing unbelievable claims, makes this character completely...well... unbelievable. At least you tried to tone it down a bit. I think a few years ago, you wrote that this character did well over 250 private events himself in a year...while booking many more for others....I believe you wrote that this character did all of this without a website.

2)Another reason no one believes it is because someone that was doing that many weddings wouldn't really have time to come to a board to brag about how many they are doing. Most real DJs know that in order to book 70 weddings just for yourself in a 6 month period, you'd need to talk to a lot of people...A LOT. You'd either be on the phone or in meetings ALL day long. This super DJ would have super human organizational skills.....all possible, but unlikely. But this would not give your character any time for being online telling others about his greatness.

So, re-write the script and send it back to us for approval. And give this story some characters the readers can believe.

I was giving him the benefit of the doubt, but this HAS to be total BS. If true, he must be a very wealthy man. Lets see a picture of you (with your car and home in the background), holding a sign that reads Cesar. Pretty simple to do to shut us up. How about the same picture at your next gig, but with your system in the background?
