must be a hood thang
No it's not. That's what it was originally. That meant for drinks as well as food. Some events people would expect to get fed and that was the way to let them know to bring your own food.m

so if people bring thier own food and booze how does the venue make money, how does this spoken word performer get paidNo it's not. That's what it was originally. Every time I think I've heard it all I login here. Can't say I've ever heard of people bringing their own food before...Booze yes but never food
What are you talking about!? Nobody had to pay a thing to get in. People didn't bring their own food. It was about if you wanted to you bring in some alcoholic beverages and it was OK with the place. Nobody brought in any booze. I was there just to play a little bit of music at a low volume as people came up to speak and during breaks. Nothing to get people dancing. I was there basically to provide a system where people could speak and I just fill in with a little music here and there. I took some pictures and will look to post them later as I'm in major pain. I'm going to take a pain pill and go to bed. After I finished I could barely walk. I have a back problem and arthritis in my knees.SO ... you make someone suffer through a spoken word event .. probably cough up $10-$20 to go .. have to bring their own food and beverage (concealed in a brown bag) .. and sit in a cramped room listening to people complain about how small it is and how you wanted to get everyone dancing to show off your mixing chops. Sounds like fun ...
Bring your own big booty. It's a hood thing. lolOK I'll bite...I've heard of BYOB but what is BYOBB?
I will respond. I do the best I can and keep it moving. Depending on the gig and the gear needed for the job I will have someone with me to help out so I don't have to do it all. Sometimes I just look at it this way. I'm going to hurt anyway so why not do the job and get paid. I just hate I can't put the powered tops on speaker stands any more without help. In the near future I will be getting crank stands like the one I have for the lights so I don't have to lift the speakers but so high. Then just crank them up to a certain height.Ok time for everyone to be nice. Machodramaspokenword. Sorry that everything hurts and hopefully you recover soon. I do have one question. You had to bring a basic sound system and do nothing but yet you are in major pain. What happened if you had to do a real party?
By the way I know he will never respond to this but I had to give it a shoot.
Has anyone ever started this with the most basic question: Does Mix know what a business plan actually is? Or does he just hear big words and think complicated?
OK I'll bite...I've heard of BYOB but what is BYOBB?
