We got it covered all the way and yes you need this setup for this crowd. You can't half step with this crowd in this room. They know the difference because of what others do in this room monthly.

Mix I'm the king of overkill I constantly load more than I think I'll need because I'd rather be over powered than under powered trust me when I say you could do twice the job with half the gear if done correctly

The guys are telling you facts here. The Vegas need clean signal and lot's of it and they NEED to be on a delay otherwise it's going to sound like you're in a cave

As mentioned Mix, you REALLY need signal processing with this setup .. you'll need to delay all the tops around 5-7ms to make up for the horn loading on the CVs (or set the tops 5-7 feet behind the subs) .. then you'll need to play with crossover points, as you'll have a lot of large drivers and will have to tailor some to handle the mids efficiently. Double 15s are good for OUTDOOR events, as bass doesn't carry as well as the highs, but will sound REALLY muddy indoors if not processed properly.

And the listed amps really aren't the right ones for the speakers .. probably OK for the tops, but the subs, to sound clean, will need more juice.

I hope you're not thinking that LOTS OF SOUND is just as good as GOOD SOUND.

You might as well be talking French to this guy. Mix has no clue how to do any of the stuff you mention above.

Notice how he says that we all keep missing something? If there are 10 people in a room and you tell 9 of them that they're missing something - maybe it's not them that's missing anything. Maybe it's time to look in the mirror.

Sorry but I think it's a 6000. The amp has a built in driverack and we have another for the tops. Processing will be just fine.

I'd love 3 more SRX828SP subs and 4 SRX835P tops. That would compliment my current SRX rig so nicely.
One of my favorite live sound rigs was the SRX722 over 728. My back won't let me touch that size gear any more ..

I want a Silver Cloud Rolls Royce. I've always wanted one. The reason is simple. Poor people don't own that car. A person owning that car isn't a poor person. A friend of mine a long time ago told me the story where he was doing some electrical work for a dealership that sells Rolls Royce. A guy comes in and ask how many miles to a gallon does a Rolls Royce get. The salesman tells him he doesn't mean any harm but you're looking for that used car lot down the street.

This isn't true at all. There are plenty of people that buy flashy things and can't accumulate any wealth at all.

Most people that say things like, "I want to be a millionaire," are really saying, "I would like to spend a million dollars." Being a millionaire is literally the opposite of that. It means having earned a million dollars, but not spending it on stupid stuff.

I recon that if I never purchased my 2nd car for $2,600+ taxes, tags, and the additional maintenance the car has needed over the past 2 years (Just oil changes, and a can of Freon so far) that I would have at least $3,000 more in savings. If I didn't purchase any new DJ Lighting in the last 2 years which I certainly did not NEED, but really just wanted because I like buying new lights from time to time I would probably have another $700 - $800 or more in savings.

If I only went out to eat say twice a week instead of 6 times a week, I would probably save at least another $50 per week. If I only ate out 2 times a week every week of the year, and ate like Ramen Noodles or some real cheap food at home all the time as the replacement, that's a lot more money I might have to myself $50x52 is $2,600 per year. ...I'd have even more money in savings.

Pretty tough to eat cheap food, and stay inside like a Miser all the time. I like going to Chilis, or Longhorn steak house, or the local diner for lunch and spending $15 - $25 with tip all the time. I guess I like to eat good food, and just prefer to spend money over saving it in that aspect.

I'm not advocating for never spending money... just that a status symbol like an expensive car isn't actually an indicator of wealth. I spend PLENTY of money on restaurants and doing stuff with friends. And I spend money in a way that aligns with my values. But, I don't spend money just to show people that I'm not a poor man.

Some people say..."Save your money for retirement...Don't buy stuff you don't NEED". ...I find that way easier said than done.

Then I think about it, and I go "I only get to live ONCE!" ...Why should I save, save, save for the future when money is worth less in the future anyway? What if I die earlier in life, and I don't get a chance to have fun with the money I did have?

I just accept that I will want to eat out when I want to. I accept my current bills I need to pay, and I realize that I would rather take 1 to 2, or even 3 trips every year where I splurge and spend money, and relax rather than try to save my money.

I could have opted not to go to the DJ Expo, and not spend money on a hotel room, or any money on gambling while up there. But I opted to go on a trip, spend money, and try to have a good time while there. I went to Myrtle Beach in the Spring, and to Hershey Park over the summer. I am glad I spent money on those family trips. The experiences are worth it. Saving money, and sitting at home would be boring, and I only get to live once. I may never save a lot of money, or be any where near a millionaire in life, but I can look back at life and say I tried to have the best time I could with the money I did earn in life. I'm not out to impress anybody with what I have, or how much $$$ I earn. I just want to say I lived a nice life and had enough fun, and good times...and ATE WELL! :)

I have the mindset that it isn't worth it to work my life away. I only live once, and having a great balance of time and enough money to have good times with is more important. I spoke to a lady at the store who told me she had worked every day last week, and this was her 14th day in a row of working 8 to 14 hour shifts. She looked exhausted, and told me she was exhausted. I thought to myself "I don't care how bad I need money...there is no way I would put myself through that kind of work schedule, and have no time to myself...F that!" ...I personally feel a bit sorry for people who put themselves in that sort of a situation. Don't let life pass you by is what I say. Take it easy, make time for yourself. Eat out, and relax when you can and try to enjoy life...

I worked 2 gigs this past weekend. I was tired yesterday just from working 2 days in a row. I'm glad I had yesterday, and today off, and don't have to report for work somewhere. ...Time to get a hair cut, go eat lunch somewhere, then pick my son up from school to take him to the dentist....then he has swim lesson later today.

I did the exact opposite of you from the time I was 14 I worked my ass off acquiring as much money as i could, investing rather well along the way, now at 46 I don't have to work if I don't want to, my family has everything they need and a lot of what they want, I am glad I did it this way, work hard for 30 years, then enjoy the next 30-40 doing what I want when I want

I'm somewhere in the middle of the two of you. I worked like a dog until 35 then I had a health scare (heart attack...several actually). When I recovered from that my body wouldn't take the long hours long term and I had a different mindset. I put the plan in place to get away from what I was doing and move on to other things. These days I work part time in radio and DJ pretty much every weekend from April to December and a few in the early months usually. I have a few other irons in the fire at all times too but it's all stuff I like doing for the most part.

If the right opportunity came along I would work full time but I refuse to work at something that stresses me anymore. I may go pick up another part time job for the slow months but if not it's all good. I don't think there is a best way of doing anything it's what works for you
