apparently De Walt has come up in the drill world. It was down there with Milwaukee and K Marts bargain basement model.
 
DeWalt corded drills (the AC models) were clones made by B&D in Maryland. I don't know if that's still the case though. B&D makes the most durable power tools ever. They make or made AC motors for a wide range of industrial products, including Rigid power tools.

Some swear by Milwaukee. I have replaced many a set of brushes, trigger switches and AC cords in Milwaukee power tools over the years. Rarely did a B&D tool need to be serviced. :)

Back to topic, I tend to concur with Ben on the brand recognition aspect. Behringer gear is not noted for acceptance in the upper end of SR. That could change... it could be changing as we speak. However, I seriously doubt that it will happen sooner due to this buyout.
