Hey Guys,

We have been trying to get some ideas and pricing on what to do with getting company apparel.

We first looked at Screen Printing. We want our Logo on the Left Chest and then possible a larger part of our logo and information on the back (Mainly for T-Shirts). Setup was $20 per color, and then $5 per side and $10 per shirt (They actually might of been a bit more)

We were also thinking about doing Embroidery for Polo's for other events, with the Text part of our logo and company name on the Left Chest. Setup was $150 to get logo converted into a 'stitch' format and then it was $15 per garment + the garment price. Apparently even our simple text is expensive to do for embroidery.

I just ran across Professional Iron-On service. Which can basically take our full color logo and press it onto the shirts or polo's for was is basically a fraction of the price of screen printing and embroidery. It looks like $4 per transfer, $4 for pressing + the garment.

Has anyone used the Iron-On method? Any pro's or Con's to it? We are really trying to find the most cost effective way of getting out name and logo onto shirts and maybe a hat or two. But as with everything we know the cheapest isn't always the best.

I would stick with screen printing or embroidery. Iron-on has gotten better, but you can still tell it's an iron on, and over time they may begin to peel off. I think the "Classiest" of the methods is embroidery, especially if on something like a polo or dress shirt.

However, I'm a nerd... not a fashion expert. ;)

Sometimes when you have a lot of Embroidery done on the back it feels like a piece of cardboard or a lot of Starch was used on it, that can make it uncomfortable to wear.

+3 for Queensboro, just get ready to receive a weekly email from them.

They do have great deals all the time though.

I get My logo on the front Pocket of a POLO Shirt

and on the Back either the words

"ROADIE"
(08 93770205)

or
"Dj ENTERTAINER"
(08 93770205)

and have worked wonders over the years
especially setting up etc

the Dj one is only used for Setup and then the Dj changes into his suit later

Give these guys a try. I have used them on several occasions for silk screening they also do embroidery. Excellent pricing and customer service.

I use these guys and like them, BUT they once took 7 months to fill an order for a custom laptop bag my wife ordered for me for Christmas. :sqerr:

I wonder how long does it take them to respond when you upload an item to be analyzed for turning into an embroidered logo?

I uploaded mine 2 days ago and haven't even recieved an acknowlegement email that they got it or are working on it.

I was also going to say Queensboro. If you don't mind the almost daily emails, they do run some amazing deals.

I am in the same boat. I submitted Artwork for them to do their stitch count and analysis on but I haven't heard anything back yet. And I thought it was pretty simple. I know they said Gradients don't really work on Embroidery, but I figure they can make it a 2 tone instead of the gradient.

just make it ONE color, you'll probably save a few bucks for eliminating one more color thread. unless they do not charge by the color.

Funny you say that... I used to get a ton, but now I only get about 1 -2 a month.

According to a couple shops I have spoken to. It doesn't matter the colors used for embroidery. Cause to the machine it's all the same. Just 4 spools of thread on the machine. And only takes a few minutes more to setup.

We use Port Authority Signature black polos for our shirts, and we like them because they breathe well and don't shrink or fade much. We use them for bridal shows, client meetings, and casual outdoor events. We only have a small logo embroidered on the front-top-left portion of the shirt. Sometimes, random folks ask about the logo and I respond with a card and an explanation. ;)

We got our work done at a company here in Lafayette, IN called Freckles. We only had to pay a one-time setup fee ($50?) and for the shirt and labor (about $40 total).
