Fake news strikes again. Let's just stay with reality and not lose ourselves in mystical intervention or any other such nonsense. Trump won. Hillary lost. There is no evidence of tampering. The recounts are over, and where they took place, Trump increased his lead. The electors will do their job and carry out the will of the people. Trump will move forward and will be inaugurated, followed by his presidential term. You need to accept reality and accept the results of the election. It is not going to change, and the vapid biddy is not going to be president, or much of anything else, and we can be thankful for that.

In other news, we all need to smarten up on what we click on. We have to destroy this fake news scam, and the best way to do that is to REFRAIN from clicking on sensational and ultra-curious links that are basically click-bait to enrich a legion of 2-bit Internet phonies who have discovered a pusillanimous way to avoid real work and make an easy living.

DON'T CLICK ON CLICK-BAIT.
You said we can be thankful for the vapid biddy won't be president. Speak for yourself! It does look like this country will be ion the hands of that clown Trump! I said it before in the other thread. We need to pray more then ever with that clown taking office. Sorry for those who disagree. You have your opinion and I have mine. I just hope my prediction is wrong about world war 3 coming with him being president of this country. It was already reported that the Russian president was talking about having a nuclear missile being fired at Nato. Stevie Wonder said it best. Heaven help us lord.

Let's revisit this next year once he's had a chance to actually do something .. rather than guessing what he might do.

You know NATO is a treaty; right? I have no idea what news organization would report such a ridiculous story, but trust me... a nuclear missile fired at a treaty would be a little bit crazy; even for Putin.[emoji1]
I don't know where the actual (physical) NATO treaty is, but would it really take a nuclear missile to blow it up?[emoji1]

I'm SO sick of hearing the LOSERS of the election saying Hillary won the popular vote... Doesn't matter... She lost the election. Hillary people don't want to play by the rules, as the leaked emails clearly revealed. There have been four other Presidents elected without winning the popular vote.

In 1824, John Quincy Adams was elected president despite not winning either the popular vote or the electoral vote. Andrew Jackson was the winner in both categories. Jackson received 38,000 more popular votes than Adams, and beat him in the electoral vote 99 to 84. Despite his victories, Jackson didn’t reach the majority 131 votes needed in the Electoral College to be declared president. In fact, neither candidate did. The decision went to the House of Representatives, which voted Adams into the White House.

Can you imagine if neither candidate had received an Electoral College majority and it was up to Congress to select the President? With Republican majorities in both houses, Trump would likely be selected, but who knows for sure. Trump was not real popular, even in his own Party. If you think we have protests now, just think how crazy the lefty protesters would be if congress had elected Trump![emoji1]

I don't even want to get into a discussion about how bad the last eight years have been. Yes, we had a recession... a bad one. One that was caused by a lot of factors, from banks too big to fail, GM and Chrysler collapsing, the housing bubble, etcetera, etcetera. If people lost their jobs in the banking industry, that's too bad, but frankly they deserved worse... We bailed them out rather than risk an economic collapse, but after an anemic recovery where interest rates have been held to nearly zero and money printed by the billions just to create the illusion of a growing economy, it has been a disaster for all but the very wealthy. Job growth has finally improved recently, almost despite the current administration. The country is badly divided by the most divisive, partisan President in history. Law enforcement is under attack. More people on the dole, and healthcare is just ridiculous! No... I'm not better off than I was in 2008. Not by a LONG shot, and I haven't even mentioned the disastrous foreign policy.

I didn't vote for Trump, but Hillary would have been WORSE, so I'm glad at least SHE did not win![emoji4]

One simple question. I won't debate the other things you said. What does the president have to do with people deciding to attack or kill law enforcement? When I grew up people respected the police. That was a long time ago. Nowadays things have changed. People are openly selling drugs on street corners. You need a good education today to make a decent wage to take care of a family. If we're talking a family of 4, that usually will mean you need to have 2 people working to be able to survive or live comfortably. Many years ago you had a thing where the father worked and the mother stayed home taking care of the kids and the house. Today that is a distant memory. Unless one person has a job of at least 100k and they don't live above their means. What gets us in trouble is not our needs but our wants.

Again what does a president have to do with a person deciding to just kill a cop without any bad feelings? That's what they choose to do. I will mention one more thing. What's more important to you? Owning a a brand new vehicle or having a place to live? It's about being practical and not putting yourself behind the 8 ball and not knowing how to get out from under.

I saw this on a news station. One of the major ones. This whole world has gone crazy. What is destroying this world is our greed. When do we have enough? There was a time when you could win the lottery for 1 million dollars and that was good enough. Now the government takes so much for taxes that you hardly get much of anything for yourself.

One simple question. I won't debate the other things you said. What does the president have to do with people deciding to attack or kill law enforcement? ...

I can't answer your question because I can't know what is in the heads and hearts of people who attack and kill cops. But I can't understand why anybody would ever think it's OK to kill anyone else or steal from anyone else for that matter. Why do people think it's OK to burn cars or loot a business in the midst of a protest?

President Obama said in a live appearance on TV that "the shooting death of a black teen by a white police officer last month in Ferguson, Missouri, exposed the racial divide in the American justice system that “stains the heart of black children.” He said this LONG before there was an investigation by the Justice Department, which cleared the officer and proved that "hands up don't shoot" was a scam!

When cops are killed; crickets. When the cops were killed in Baton Rouge, did we see Obama on TV?... No; we got a statement released by the White House that was barely reported.

This sends a message to some people that COPS lives don't matter, and they are not to be respected as much as the people who attack them. The president is NO big fan law enforcement, which he made clear almost from the start (July 2009) with the statement that a Cambridge Cop "acted stupidly", before even knowing the facts.

Greed isn't new. Hard to say if it is any worse now than it was 20 years, 100 years, or 2000 years ago. They could conduct a poll, but the greedy are probably not likely to respond honestly.[emoji1]
That said, it seems that a lot of what we saw in companies and banks that caused the 2008 recession was A LOT of greedy and dishonest executives. So Obama bailed them out... that taught 'em a lesson, huh?[emoji1]

Congress bailed them out. Not the president. If the decision wasn't agreed upon with congress then they wouldn't have been bailed out.

I usually don't get involved in political posts...

Good idea, considering your wacky leftist positions.[emoji1] Just kidding.[emoji1] though I don't agree much with your opinions, you have EVERY right to participate in all of these discussions, and I hope you will. I belong to another forum where I was called pretty much everything you could be called for expressing my Christian and Libertarian perspectives, and I would hope we would NEVER let that kind of disrespectful behavior happen here. Besides, Mix and Jeff Romard need a little support occasionally.[emoji1]

No the bailout was by the Treasury Department .. and they report up to the president. The bailout actually started with Bush .. he allowed the initial $700B to go out .. problem is Obama has let it climb to $4.7 Trillion (under cover as details were not originally released) .. and we have a total commitment of close to $17 Trillion .. and Banks were not prosecuted enough for their involvement ..

You can read about it in Forbes ... The Big Bank Bailout

Mix is right to a point... Congress had to approve the funds, and they did.[emoji1]

It was a Democrat congress and Obama pulled the strings.

It's a 2 edge sword. What do you do? Bail those companies out and save a lot of jobs so the unemployment rate doesn't rise even more or don't bail them out leaving thousands of people without a job.? Leaving those companies to take their companies to go over seas where they can find much cheaper employees to work for them and then sell the stuff over here for a ridiculously jacked up price. Do you know that those sneakers that they sell here costing $80-150 are made over seas for a little bit of nothing? Something like $20-25.

Yes .. they are to blame as well .. just wanted to make sure Mix knew that Obama was also culpable.

The answer to your question is another question... Are we a free market country; or not? If you look deeper into the bailouts, there's a lot of corruption and cronyism involved. They were NOT trying to save middle class jobs... nothing even close to something so noble.[emoji4]

You miss my point. Either way he it went it would look bad for him. So you actually can't win in this case at all. The only way you get to at least try to control things is by having a salary cap like they do with sports teams and players. Then you got to worry about all the loop holes that these business people know about to get around or out of things.

The role of our leaders is NOT to look good .. it's to do what's right by all the people. None of them did that completely.

I am sure a bailout was needed .. I'm sure it needed to be continued .. but nothing was really done to stop that whole corrupt process and Obama had that opportunity and didn't do it. We'll see if Trump has the balls to do it or if he is also going to genuflect.
