Repeal Obamacare. I don't care how much the pundits say it "costs". Repeal that $hit and replace it with anything else. West Virginia voted Trump because they were left in the dark by Obama's war on coal. Coal may not be the future regardless, but you can't declare war on an industry which was strong for a certain area of the country, and offer nothing in return for them. West Virginia was hit hard through out the Obama Years.

Keeping Obamacare will cost Americans WAY MORE than repealing it. The Tax Fine is stupid, and should be illegal. The Ridiculous premiums are a joke at this point. The Deductibles are beyond Stupid. It's a catastrophe, and Americans have had this $hit shoved down their throats.

...You live in Canada. ...Try living in Arizona where premiums are set to sky rocket 119%. My wife and I are about to pay $80 a month more for our family plan than we were just a few months ago through her work....for what? For it being a new year? That means my wife and I now have $960 less a year in our pockets? The system is a bunch of BS!
Not trying to be funny Ricky but why did your wife change insurance from what she had at work to Obamacare? Was she forced to do so? I worked on my day job for 33 years and I still have the same insurance I had when I was working. After retiring I also got Medicare.

They'll repeal it in name only .. it'll get "trumped" with Trumpcare .. same thing only different.

Obamacare was never healthcare reform it was insurance reform. The original plan was for basically a universal health care but it got watered down to what it is today mainly because insurance companies are in the pockets of the politicians

Do you really think what is coming next will be better? Cheaper for you? I hate to be the one to break the news to you but they are doing you no favours at all. You will be paying the same or more for less services and Obama will take the blame...The insurance companies will be the only winners in this game you're only paying for their field time you're not invited to play

I can buy travel/health/trip insurance ( My Canadian healthcare doesn't cover me outside Canada except in very few circumstances) and spend a month in the USA for $109.00 and that's with a pre-existing condition (stents) and 5 million coverage. Explain how I can do that and you pay more just for health...And have been even before Obamacare

You not only pay for insurance you pay for healthcare with your taxes...The US spends more on healthcare than anyone else in the world and no one is entitled to it. Where do you think that money goes?

I do believe our healthcare needs fixing. I just don't believe Obamacare was the answer. When you try to be everything to everyone, you end up pleasing very few.

To me I think the best "quick fix" would be for health insurance to work like car insurance. Let companies deduct the amount they give each employee for health care. Then let the employees shop for insurance that fits their needs. So insurance companies need to compete for each person's business.

Offer an incentive for companies to give their employees this money and an incentive for employees to make sure employees use it on insurance. Offer a good incentive for people that aren't working or don't get money for health insurance to get it. Offer tax incentives to hospitals or insurance companies that give low cost insurance plans to the poor.

Do NOT let hospitals charge one rate to insured customers and a much higher rate for non insured.

There is no good answer to healthcare when the foundational costs keep rising. New drugs that didn't exist a few years ago, new procedures making the difficult - routine, new, higher cost options to make life more enjoyable .. that everyone wants.

I should be able to go to the hospital and say "My Budget is $300"....When they are trying to charge $900. ...If most of the customer base is telling the providers "work within our budget" or else...the prices will come down naturally.

Health Care Costs are out of control because of Greed.

Mix: We are not on a Obamacare Plan. Obamacare made Insurance rise across the board. ...my Wife's previous plan jumped from $650 or so a month for a family plan to about $1100 a month in just a few short years. It was ridiculous. Her work finally decided to change plans due to rising costs with Blue Cross Blue Shield. ...Now we are on EverGreen Health. It started around $485 a month for our family. Now it's $565 a month...$80 per month jump in price in one year? ...Fraudulent if you ask me.

Hospitals shouldn't be able to charge $1,200 a night for room stay. A bandage shouldn't cost $85 when that same bandage costs aboutn$5 at Wal Mart. There is no reasonable reason why it costs $9,000 to $14,000 to have a baby in a hospital, and that only includes 1 night stay there. In and Out.

Prices are totally absurd. Obama lied when he said "If you like your plan you can keep it" and "If you like your doctor, you can keep them!" Lots of Doctors dropped out, and lots of companies cancelled plans. Prices raised more than 3X - 7x faster in health insurance since Obama got the ACA to pass than in previous years. Not to mention the crazy deductibles being offered now. The whole thing is absurd.

Also, why do prescriptions in Canada that cost $40 to $100 to the public cost $200 to $800 here in the USA??? That is some BS!

I hope Trump and the Republicans can change it all for the better in the next 4 years.

I agree ... AND ... the hospital should have the right to laugh and say I think you'd be better off at the one down the street.

Try that at a car dealership...Or a grocery store...Or when you are hiring a DJ. They are maximizing their potential. It may work with a cut on your hand but go in with a heart attack or other serious problem your room to negotiate is seriously limited

Again I can get travel/health/trip insurance to go to the US for $109/month My wife is even less than that ($88 I believe) because she has no pre-existing conditions. This will cover me for up to 5 Million in any hospital of my choosing in the USA and I believe it will pay for a life flight to get me back to Canada if I'm fit to travel.. You are a resident of the US and pay more than double...Plus you pay taxes toward Medicare/Medicaid and can't collect

But what you're seeing wasn't the original Obamacare. Congress beat it down to the point it was useless...actually worse than useless for most people. the insurance/Healthcare lobby is strong

Also, why do prescriptions in Canada that cost $40 to $100 to the public cost $200 to $800 here in the USA??? That is some BS!

Most countries with socialized healthcare have reasonable prescription rates. It's a single payer system it's easier to negotiate prices. There are still some necessary drugs that are way out of whack here in Canada

I hope Trump and the Republicans can change it all for the better in the next 4 years.

Good luck with that

I agree ... AND ... the hospital should have the right to laugh and say I think you'd be better off at the one down the street.

If there was no insurance system, prices would be A LOT LOWER.

Eventually, 1 of 2 things is going to happen. Either Prices on Health Care Costs will drop significantly, OR USA will move to Socialized Health Care. It's not sustainable at the current rate of ridiculousness for the public.

Hospitals have big...BIG Portfolios of cash. Pricing could be a lot lower.

Currently, so many people don't have to pay anything, or get away without paying their bills. The system would be more efficient, and fair for everyone with competitive pricing in place. Also, a Pill that costs 50 cents to manufacture shouldn't cost $750 a prescription all of a sudden when 10 years ago that pill that was created 50 years ago was only $13 a 30 day supply. ...Big Pharma is a Evil Player in this scheme.

I know Pharmaceutical sales people who were earning 140K a year (Back in 2008). Why? Because they are legal Drug Dealers? What is so special about writing up a commercial purchase order for Cymbalta? No different than selling anything else at the distributor level. Maybe that's another reason the Health Care industry is farcical in USA right now.
