I'm staying at Harrahs. They comped me for a Suite for 4 days along with 2 free meals for the both of us and I get $40 in free slot play each day. That was pretty sweet. The room is like $299 to $350 a night. I gamble quite a bit.

I just got my passes in the mail the other day.

You Pennsylvanians must do a lot of gambling. :sqerr:

Cam, did you ask what Harrah's can do for you at the Showboat? Harrah's Atlantic City is 2 miles away, but Showboat (owned by Harrah's) is right next door to the convention. Might be worth checking into, as being that far away can really take away from the whole convention experience.

It's funny... A.C. is just 2 hours by car from where I live, and yet, in the last 5 years, I have made more trips to Vegas than A.C.

Still not sure I am going.

Yeah, that's why they built our Casinos so fast. We are finally getting table games July 8. I wont need to leave the area to gamble anymore.

I don't think I gamble a ton I know my friends do much more. I would say my wagers total $10,000 - $15,000 a year. It's what we enjoy doing. When we have time off we go to OTB, Live Horse or Dog races or the Casino. It's nice most of the time we go anywhere or room is comped.

I thought about that but after they gave me such of a deal I didn't want to change anything. We will probally only hit up convention one day.

my Partner and I are making the trip together on the 18th, I may go a couple other days as well depending on my work schedule.

I'll be there! It's my first time going, my old friend who's a DJ got me a pass in the mail. What should I be expecting?

On the floor, expect about 50 different companies playing house or rap music as loud as they can, each seemingly trying to blow the doors in of their competitors. :sqeek: Also expect that you will gain very little knowledge on the floor, as it is too loud to communicate.

If you want to learn anything you will need to attend the seminars and the company breakout rooms.

Which means more money... My friend said he went to the seminars and learned next to nothing that he didn't already know. Thoughts on this anyone?

That might be true, but I doubt it. The last one I went to in Vegas, I had about 500 events under my belt. And I learned things at the seminars. But I learned WAY more talking to folks in the hallways, and breakfast meetings, and the like.

Yeah, I hardly believe that too. Those seminars are money. You may find a couple that "may not interest" you, but there is always something to be learned from them. There is a pretty good lineup if you visit the Expo site.

Okay guys, this is coming up quick , So i know that i will be at the Expo for sure now. I will be there Tuesday afternoon the 17th, and then also the 18th and 19th. I'm going to be staying at the Taj. Where and when do you guys want to meet up. I think it'd be cool to meet up Tuesday night and head to the Promo Party together? let me know what ya think

Yes, there is always something... but frequently not when I am available, or there is another seminar I want as well. That's why I want a schedule. Me, I personally hate the floor... especially at AC. Mostly club music blaring at way too many decibels, and every company trying to win the loudness war.

So long as you enjoy it, that's cool.

Really? Man, when I walk into that exhibit hall for the first time I hear the sweet compilation of overlaped music everywhere accompanied by a fresh whiff of fog juice. As I walk on, I am blinded by a Martin and someone is about to scare the hell out of me with a quick flick of the knob to test something they want to buy.....MAN I LOVE IT. :)

In general, I am appreciative that there are a few events like this every year. DJ's deserve this and I don't care who you are, there is something for everyone. I've been to both shows (Times and MB), and they both have great things about them.

I go for the artists at DJ Times. Always a good line up and you can get up close and personal with them unlike at a concert. You also get to see your favorite Dj's, catch up & network with guys around the country - just soak up everything I can so I can be charged up on my way home and appreciate I have the best job around.

........ back with a reply.

The multi quote didn't work... but, Cam... Turns out my family from NC is coming up, and there are 4 August birthdays in my family. So nothing huge... just a small BBQ and beer... ( reply to post #1 )
