Give us a little bit and we'll do some hotel posting and calling

Stupid question? Does Indiana have the indoor ban on smoking indoors like Illinois? Just curious..

Indiana is a city by city basis. Here's the breakdown for our area.

West Lafayette: smoking ban in all public indoor places unless its like a tobacco bar.

Lafayette: if the establishment serves anyone under 21 they must be non-smoking; if 21 or over it's up to the establishment.

Tippecanoe County: no smoking laws yet.

FYI for everyone, we are going to be there on Friday afternoon already.

That's what we hope to do. I'm anticipating that we'll take Friday off and roll into town early afternoon or late morning and not leave until sometime Sunday, probably later in the morning.

More info as we firm up our plans... :)

That's the way it should be... I'm not a smoker, but hate the government telling businesses that cater to the over 21 crowd that they can't allow smoking...

So okay folks, hotel info has been asked for and here it is:

West Lafayette:
Union Club Hotel: http://www.union.purdue.edu/HTML/UnionClubHotel/
- literally right on Purdue's campus, and probably one of the closest hotels to all the fun and games.

Hilton Garden Inn: http://www.hiltongardeninn.com/en/gi/hotels/index.jhtml?ctyhocn=LAFWLGI
- located in an area called The Levee...basically at the bottom of a big hill that leads up to Purdue's campus.

University Plaza Hotel: http://www.universityplazahotelwestlafayette.com/
- Located just north of campus and right across the street from Wal-Mart and Applebees. Fun side note, this is one of the bridal show locations in our area.

Others: there are a few other motels in West Lafayette...we'll just say they're great for people planning on doing a ton of drinking and never sleeping.

Lafayette:
Holiday Inn City Centre: http://www.holidayinn.com/h/d/hi/1/en/hotel/lafin?&dp=true
- Quite frankly the only Lafayette hotel we recommend...about 5-10 minutes from Purdue's campus. Located downtown Lafayette and right across from the police station/city hall. Be warned about this hotel though, parking is a major pain in the @$$. We're not sure how they managed to build the place with such little parking, but oh well.

Other hotels: Yes there are a bunch of hotels in Lafayette, the only problem is they are out next to I-65 and while their descriptions say only minutes from Purdue's campus...they're 15-20 minutes out on a good day...with the current construction (which will probably still be going on in March) and sometimes traffic, it could take 20-45 minutes to get to those hotels from campus.

Hey whats the dealio

Not even one voting possibility for the Midwest of British Columbia? As mentioned we would likely get a cheap state of the art facility that has been vacated. :sqwink::sqwink::sqwink:
As far as I'm concerned any of the locations suggested (Indianapolis, Lafayette, French Lick, Terre Haute, etc.) are doable for us....Driving 5-6 hours is not an issue for us.

YMMV
