I was in Staples and had been wanting a dictionary, so I could look up the meaning of Gerber Lol. I ask the associate where the English/ French dictionaries are. She tells me they are sold out. I walk no more than two more aisles from the register and see an end cap with a whole wall of E/F dictionaries. I then bought the other items I needed and went to the associate and said oh just wanted to mention I now understand the confusion you must have had when I asked about the E/F dictionaries and saying they were sold out, beings there is a whole display of them right over there it must have appeared sold out.

Ron, not saying you were picking just playing the other side. Also I have never thought about the fire resistant stuff.
I am a nut when it comes to safety but think about this. When the tragic Rhode Island Night Club fire accrued, everyone and their brother was sued. Anyone having something in that club was sued. I still see venues very lax on safety prevention. I just know I don't want to contribute to it.

Hank,

I'm not sure if you do this, but making a black "skirt" to hang from the sides with valcro, and wrap 3 sides down to the floor would really help you out by giving you more workspace on the floor for cables. Just get the $5 basic black fabric from wal-mart, and apply it with some Velcro.

I place the cover on the stand and then pleat a linen over it (like paper airplane corners). Then I place the main section on top and viola!

Hank! Any chance we could see your box with the linen on it? I need ideas...

On another note...I love your "Hank's Lounge!" I watched the "Take On Me" video by Aha and am still amazed at what a great video it was. Seems very far ahead of it's time and it still holds up to this day...some of the things that they do in that video still look cool!

I'm pretty sure I used the same material as Hank did on his. The male side of velcro should stick to it nicely. Just stitch some on to the skirt. That's what I plan on doing with mine. You can get cheap skirts at www.georgiaexpo.com. Look in their bargin section. They all come with a certificate for fire retardant materials.

That works, but I simply use a standard linen (same as on tables) with no Velcro. I'll take some pics, but it's no magic trick. Just a drape and fold.

... :sqconfused: :sqerr: :sqeek:

I must be spending too much time on chat boards -- that just sounded way too weird :sqlaugh:

I think what he meant to say was "Hank! Any chance I can get a peek at your box that's covered by your loin cloth?":sqeek:

The only thing that is keeping me from going down the keyboard stand coffin case route is there is no facade of any sort to kind of hide my workspace...

Hmmm, I think I just figured out who Fuzzy has on speed dial... :sqlaugh:

Fabrics, pleating, gerbils, kilts, knitting, male side of velcro...

Holy Sh_t -- A BFO :sqerr: :sqeek:

Does this make me the token heterosexual around here...? :sqcool:

Yeah, my wife was wondering who was calling me at 2am.:sqerr:
Then again I'm not the one sporting the 70's disco I wanted to be a Village People guy look.:sqlaugh: Of course that's because I don't have any hair and wouldn't look good in spandex.:sqeek:

The linen hides the wire (though there aren't many) and your workspace will become neat and tidy if you design it to do so. :sqwink:

Just wanted to let anyone know that's considering building a box using the Tuf Board that it's not available in the Pac NW at this time. (Home Depot tried to say PVC Trim Board was the same thing but it's not) I actually called the company and I'm going to email them the amounts I need and they will UPS it out! Cost could be high with shipping but we'll see...I'll report back.

I forgot what a nice looking setup that Hank had. I really wish Hank you would come up with a price that is good for you and Build some stuff like this. I know I would probably be interested as well as other. For me this would make a great Ceremony setup or main system If I ever use that type of mixer for my main system. If your not sure what I'm talking about here is Hanks system. Its like his Graphics jobs, a work of art. When you come up with a price plus shipping let me know. I want mine in Black. And no people I don't care how easy it might be for me to build it or not. I have my skills and this is not one of them. Put me in charge of a multi million dollar computerized mechanical system and I will make it hum.

Dawg, Home Depot tried to tell me the same thing in AZ. Let me know what your cost is on it.

Madness....sorry I forgot to get back on this. When I called the company directly they will UPS/Fed X it to you....looks about the same price as what Hank paid but there is an additional $20 in shipping....for me at least. I'm undecided on what to use now. Wondering if the additional $20 is worth it....

I just started preliminary plans on my box and I'll post some pics in a new thread soon....
