Hint:

No one is as stupid as Rob is pretending to be. Just treat the foolishness in kind.

Like suggesting he try an alternative source for his music acquisition. I suggest he surf on over to www.etshetndie.pls
Hey, that link doesn't work? WTF:sqerr:

I appoligize!

I didnt mean to push anyones buttons here. I am new at this. The music I have from Limewire, Frostwire, Ect., is ALL for personal use. What I use for DJing, is all from an external hard drive from my boss that has paid for to have for the business. I have in no way put ANY of the music I have for my personal use into the DJing part. Im sorry if I upset anyone. I did not know its illegal to download music. I have done it for years. This is something new that I have learned. And, I thank you for informing me. Again, I do appoligize for upseting anyone.

The tooth fairy ain't legit either.

Hey Mike, welcome the the board. That's all Rob was trying to say. :)

But quite frankly, if you didn't buy the music or get permission from the copyright holder to have it, you ain't suppose to have it. Now with that being said, I will admit to having a popular track that is a must have for me, but for the life of me can not find the original version for purchase. Any one know where I can find an original version of Booty Call?

Yeah Sarge, someone on Limewire will have it. I bet they'll even let you pay for it.:sqwink:

Mike, welcome to the board. Many of us pride ourselves on having a legal library whereby we pay for every song. This sets us apart from some of the low end unprofessional DJ's that some refer to as bottom feeders. Maybe we should have an orientation for new members to explain all this stuff and avoid any embarrassment or attacks. Building a library or obtaining new music has never been easier because of so many sources available to new dj's.
I know of one board where you would have been swinging on the end of a rope if you mentioned Limewire. I'm sure a number of the members here used places like limewire until they joined a DJ forum and were explained that this is not a legal or professional way to obtain music.
So Mike, I just didn't want you to feel you were being attacked by the indians. It's good to have you on board. Again, welcome and we look forward to your participation.:sqwink:

Why so they can lie and proceed to pick the ripest fruit from the trees?

It's good to have you on board.
Explain how it is good to have an admitted leech in the group? :sqmad:

You know, I know TONS of people that use different sites to get their music without paying for them. If it was "illegal" there wouldnt be these kind of sites on the internet. Thats why its called the internet. Its there for all to use. Im 40 years old, I do think I know what is legal and what is illegal. I am well known where I come from. My g/f has over 2,000 songs that she has downloaded, and uses to listen to where ever she goes. I do the exact same thing. If I get "caught", I will pay the fine. Its that plain and simple. As I stated before, I DIDNT know it was illegal to download from P2P sites. Ive been on the internet since it first came out many moons ago(it seems like, anyways). What I have on this computer is for my personal use. I have a second laptop that I use for Djing. It has nothing on it except for my Dj software. It doesnt even get on the internet. It has the capabilities, but I completely took out all the drivers for the ethernet, and wireless on that computer. I run an external hard drive with that computer. That has all the "legally" purchased music on it. I try my best to as curtious and polite to everyone I talk to whether it be on here, other site I go to, or in person. If I knew anything was "illegal", I would not of said anything. So, with that being said, I will not post anything else for awhile untill things cool down for what I messed up. I will just take a little break for everything, and just "browse" around here to get some ideas that may help me be a better DJ. Im just starting out as a Dj, as I have been helping my uncle, who is also my boss and the owner, so I do have a long ways to go to get the idea of how things run. Again, Im sorry for stepping on anyones toes. Bye.

Mike
