Not yet Karl...

Damn, I haven't even fired up the BIG JBLs yet, and they've been in the garage for over a year.

As soon at it warms up... my project for the summer is to get the garage organized. I have about 9 stalls and they're all full of stuff. My truck sits outside in the snow.

For those of you that aren't familiar with Tryone's JBL rig that he speaks of, (that I am waaaaaaay envious of) I am re-posting the pic for you. This is a picture of Bernie Howard standing with the rig - that he sold to Tyrone.

Try not to drool too much........

Right on Sparkie...

Not only are they big... but all of them weigh damn near as much as the vehicle they're taking up space for.

Actually each sub is almost 150 lbs. I built custom dollys for them, which are just perfect, but I'll NEVER be able to get them up or down stairs. I bought them for school proms, but haven't done one since I bought them. Maybe I'll have to sell them.

Depending on how much room the new club gives me, I may put them there. BTW: the roof is just getting put on as we speak... check the web cam at www.breezypointresort.com

Mother of God!!!! I think I just wet myself with excitement.... and for sure there is a puddle of drool just below my monitor too.

And for those of you that haven't had the pleasure of hearing those subs in person, let me be the first to tell you -

They have the ability to make your innards churn..........

We ran 6 of them in the club I used to spin at, and with 4 of them being in-set under the stage, the underside of the stage acted like a huge bass reflex enclosure. In the attached picture, you can see the 4 subs inset and the other two were standing up right on each side of the stage on the dance floor. (Try to pay attention to the subs and not the girls dancing on the stage, or I'll crop the picture and take the girls out of it!)

DJ Brian B, how long did it take you to set up the system in the above pic?

I figure it takes me to long to set up and tear down. Set up = 1 1/2 hours, Tear down = 45 minutes. I want to get them both down to 20 minutes. I only have the basic as it is now; speakers on stands, amp, Laptop, cd player, one par can on floor, two lights on speakers & mirror ball.

Abby Lane,

I cant speak for Brian but on my system I can be gig ready in around 30 minutes. Ive had this system for a little over a year and in the beginning it was over an hour on set-up time. Always be looking for ways you can streamline your setup and like anything the more you do it the faster you get.

As far as tear down, I can be broke down and loaded in about 20 min. That is the one thing Ive always focused on. I dont like to have the family members who have to stay and clean up waiting on me.

I screamed like a school girl over those speakers

Thanks,
It holds its own. Im Yamaha all the way around and I love them. The truss is also very cool but you need at least a 9' ceiling to use it.

I use yamahas also, and they are in my opinion one of the best all around speaker manufacturer. The parts, even on the inexpensive models are all quality, and you know when buying a yamaha you won't have any problems and have a great sound.
