All this depends on how great a DJ you are besides playing music and how much the people like you. If you're good enough then there will be no replacing you.I agree. Streaming services are just the current evolution of Muzak with the additional option of being able to choose your own playlist. The only advantage a dj will have left is the ability to take requests. Even that advantage is somewhat negated if that establishment owner has a jukebox with a device that will mute the background music service once a selection is made.
Not really .. it may matter outside a bar gig, but most likely won't in the future at one. Given a streaming service and a little bit of intelligence, the majority of DJ activity can be easily replaced .. EXCEPT when the services or talent you provide is needed or desired for the activity and the client is willing to pay for it.All this depends on how great a DJ you are besides playing music and how much the people like you. No owner I know can afford to pay a barmaid or bartender $200 a shift.
I never said anything like that at all. I wouldn't say a thing like that at all. That would be great if that were to be the case for a Sunday. That's just not being realistic. And you still believe that a bar owner can afford to pay YOU $200 every Sunday?
Yes, but you will find him there too.Does anyone know of any Disc Jockey forums out there? I keep coming to this bar owner forum. LOL
Different types of music. Club classics, classic soul and more. It's not a large crowd yet. Hopefully this Sunday Mother's Day will be better. So Mix,
How are things going at this Sunday gig? Has the crowd sized increased over the weeks? What kind of tunes have you been playing?
Yes because Mothers day is known as a big party night where everyone goes out to a bar to listen to a DJ.
Thighs, legs or breasts?I really do like their chicken.
I guess you can get something else there too if you have enough money. You might have to take care of that business after hours. They have food there?
It is about what I said earlier. Reaching people in more than one way. Not everybody is addicted to the Internet. Some don't deal with social media and some do. So how would you reach those who are not computer savey and don't have a Facebook page or other social media?
Yes .. but how many are House Music aficionados? As of 2011 there were 4,625,880 Facebook users in New Jersey that's a 52.6% penetration rate.. I suspect in the last 6 years that has gone up by many million and many percent. Seems that might be a few more eyes than the local what's going on magazine

In NJ... A LOT. Many of the major clubs in the shore during the summer and up north year round have djs that only do house music often.
