Steve : You too??!!! Mine has been used at five event sites and the lens has come loose twice requiring all those screws to be undone, the lens repositioned, and then everything reattached. The last (and final time) the hot glue gun fixed it for once and for good. Same with the cheapo power lead assembly.

Good fixture but another ongoing example of poor design, poor engineering, poor manufacturing techniques, poor quality control, and junk Chinese made crap being thrust on us more and more.

It's plastic......the outside is smooth; the inside is ridged, like a vinyl record on steroids....as the lens falls in, it gets gouiged on the clamps....I don't think they could be buffed.....That being said it doesn't appear to affect the light at all.....just being anal....

Ben......oh Ben?

You wouldn't be able to buff the ridged side but the smooth side should be OK to polish. I have been a Government Certified Jeweller / Goldsmith since 1988 and have found that there's not much I can't polish. Sounds like you are just bring anal, I don't think I would bother polishing it by the sounds of it.

Chuck: If it were made in America at twice the price, three times the quality, and four times the life, nobody else would buy it either. While consumer demands for high quality products, few are really truly willing to investigate the claims and then make the higher-priced move.

Darned. That sounded negative, didn't it?

Nah, just sounded pretty honest and straight-forward to me.

Me too..The lens fell down inside and after unscrewing and getting the lens in place I scratced the lens while re-screwing..Does not seem to affect the light..Shame such a great effect has such poor quality control.

Don: Lay some hot glue dabs over the top of those flimsy tabs. It won't move again.

ADJ has an online parts store (which I've used quite often). It's a shame that Chauvet doesn't

It does'nt seem to affect the light itself so I am just taking the attitude "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"..If I do anything,I'll do what Cap suggested..I have in the past made repairs and replacements over cosmetic issues and later regretted it.

Thanks Dan...someone that sells the Vue could confirm that...That's why I'm asking. It seems it's such a common problem; one wqould think the lens could be replaced rather than tossing the whole unit, or sending it back.....

Sorry... was asleep at the wheel. I'm 99% sure I can get you a lense. I'll know for sure tomorrow.

Ben

Man this sucks! I was all excited to get this light but now I'm rethinking....guess I should look again at that AMDJ led light that is similar.

Dawg -- the lens thing is really a minor thing....Easy to fix......the inconvenience is far offset by how cool this light is. I ran it in my dining room in broad daylight...it was bright then.....the auto pattern aren't shabby as well.....When I have some time, I'm going to hook it up to my controller and program some scenes.....

Ben...Thanks...keep me posted.....If the cost isn't exhorbitant, I will pick one up.....
