.. then what's your excuse for following the thread?

I mean Papa's got money on reaching 300...
Rick is in just for for sh-- and giggles...
Scott is her to correct every word...
I'm having fun giving Scott more words...
Steve is practicing his one liner's...
Leblanc is holding an old grudge...
Canute is a referree..
and Mix has proved himself smarter than all of us by staying out.

So why are you here? Testing a new anti-anxiety med? :)

Since I am here to correct, I will

It is comical that you claim someone else is holding a grudge. You are holding a stupid lil grudge because you couldn't understand how to get video to work on your computer. I understand why. OTS' response to your statement that video doesn't work was more than 1 paragraph long, so you got lost:). They were trying to help you. But you were not listening. Not interested in what others were trying to tell you, only trying to state over and over again what you believe to be correct, because you've convinced yourself that you are an expert on everything and no one knows more than you about anything.

Exactly what you are doing here.

Rick is in just for for sh-- and giggles...

Actually not just for S&G (although it is kind of fun :) ).

I do happen to write DJ software for a living, so obviously this piques my interest...

I do think the mix off thing would be good therapy though, since you've spent a good portion of this thread criticizing Scotts abilities.

Since you refuse to do that, and I refuse to drive 1700 miles to come see you live, could you at least back up your claims of OTS crashing, by turning on your camera (I'm sure you have one), and show us how you make it crash when playing video...?

...You are overly obsessed with "correctness" because No one bought Ots 1.xx. it was always clear that we were buying version 2.0 which Ots described as "imminent" (just as they now do Esperance).

Someone should tell Bob that Ots sells a version of software without the upgrade to v2 option as well. ;)

Scott, You can add me to your list of 50!

What upgrades?
An upgrade that doesn't happen for a decade isn't an upgrade... it's a retro-fit.

This is incorrect....at least for most ots users

I've been getting upgrades over the last decade.

Would you like me to show you how to update your software?

Your inability to install the current version does not constitute a failure on their part.

Actually keeping up on threads is part of my title here at ODJT sorry to break the news to you but I am one of three Admins on this site. We dont need controversial threads to run 300 count like some of the other sites who are concerned about daily numbers so this thread having ran its course yrs ago seems a bit wasted to date. Get some new material or start a new angle its all good but 300 posts on a Dead horse topic has my attention as it should.Get a life and find a new campaign to throw your worn out hat into seriously.

Some of you really need to take yourself less seriously and catch a clue about what it means to be in entertainment and production.

I can tell it really touches a nerve with people like Jeff and Scott when you point out they don't know how to mix. The tragedy is that both of them represent a milk-toast tech-centric part of this field that is long over-due for extinction. Both represent exactly the kind of half-hearted non-creative DJs that have been dragging down this entertainment form far too long.

I think what I like most on the horizon of this industry is that much of what you guys do is becoming obsolete and falling out of favor with the public. The software and hardware out there has finally caught up with the real talent that exists in this field enabling talented DJs to truly stand out as they once did on vinyl - as a new form of electronic musician and creative musical entertainers rather than a show host emulating geek who's ultimate responsibility is to just push "play."

We all know it's the human being that is the real heart of this field - but many of you have no clue what that really means. You wax about attempting to create value out of the unnecessary and non-noteworthy. The consequence being the exact opposite of what you seek and instead exposing how insignificant you really are to both the music and the event. You are the antithesis of a DJ because you are the slaves to your machines.

Don't kid yourself.. this DJ turned wedding planner crap for example, doesn't carry any weight with savvy women, and the desperation to commandeer the roles of other vendors only further highlights the insignificance of the talent you bring to bear as a DJ. Maybe I'm just lucky - but, I see brides and planners who are seeking out real entertainment again and not the imitation that resulted from the transformation of DJs from creative talent to consumer market niche.

Many of you are very much the part of an "industry" problem you use these boards to lament about on a regular basis, and you can't even see it. I'm certain Ots will live on as a media server at a mall food court near you. It's days as a serious DJ software ended a long time ago.

So you turned a thread that you created, about your hate for a DJ program into a thread about bashing any DJ that does not follow your train of thought. Good going Bob. What a piece of......:sqcool:.

yet you continue to bash or try to dishonor their credibility seems a bit humorous at best. As far as your bash on some DJs what in the hell does it have to do with your topic. Your the one stuck in the so yesterday category with this thread topic.

You're a perfect example of taking yourself (and others) too seriously. No one is requiring you to agree, accept, or personalize my observation and opinion - likewise I have no intention to change an opinion simply to make you or anyone else feel better. On the contrary - it may be you who has difficulty with dissent.

Never expected or asked you to change your opinion, let alone to make me feel better. Just find it amusing that you turn a stupid argument over your opinion about software into trashing DJ's that don't drink the same water that you do.

But I will not be baited into your self centered and condescending post. Where it that iggy button.;)

Thank God I see dead people :D:D:D:D:D:D
Seriously,
I'm a total hobbyist that has been accepted into this family with open arms. I have expensive hobbies and understand the value the DJ provides to his audience. There are many requirements and functions a DJ performs at an event and I also realize how important it is to have a big music collection, not as a selling point but the DJ's own knowledge to be able to pick the right track for the moment it's needed. While the internet made it possible for millions to have huge music collections for free, the real DJ and entertainer has bought his music legally and those are added points for one's own conscience.

But having 2,000,000 songs does not make you a DJ, the ability to make peo0ple have fun is what makes the DJ. If you use software, if you use CD's, if you use LP's, singles, whatever media you choose that's your own choice. If a program doesn't cut it for you move to another one, I tried all including OTS, but the one where I felt most comfortable and ease of use was VDJ and I haven't looked back. Does this make VDJ the best? No, it's the best form me. One has to make their own choices.

In this community we have fun and share our experiences and while I may not be a PRO I do know stuff and try to share what I know after all 99.8% of people have been great here, yes we have people that make us want to pull our hair out, but hey it's the internet.

Bob (Proformance) has a lot of important and useful stuff to share as well as Scott Hanna, Scott Harris, Jon Tuck, Canute, Valerie, Wolfie, John (DJ John The 1), both Paul's Ricky , Rick Ryan and tons of others. Let's stop the bashing and move on . By the way does anybody know of a secretary in Jersey?

Geez Bob, could you get more condescending...?

I think it's fairly lame, that you're telling people they can't mix, yet yer not willing to show us your mad skillz, so we can bow before you.

I'm still waiting, ever so patiently...

It's lame that you need video to decipher what is real and what is not.

Jeff admitted in a prior conversation that he doesn't mix. I didn't just pull that out of my hat.
Scott has never denied that he doesn't mix - affirming a conclusion based on technical errors that underscore his lack of real knowledge about it.

All talk, no action...?

You tend to promote your production and entertainment skills -- do you do drapes too? Ahh, yes I see you do.

I guess you don't have time to mix anymore, since yer doing furniture, drapes, decor, blah, blah...

wait....who takes themselves too seriously?

And you are the only one that has claimed to be an expert at mixing. Not that you take yourself too seriously:)

Please feel free to list any technical errors I've made. I'll freely admit that I am capable of making a mistake. I do like to know when I've made them.

When I state something I believe to be a fact, I'll be more than happy to back that up. That doesn't mean I need to answer everyone of your silly questions.

How, why, and when I mix has no bearing on the misinformation you've been spewing.

Gosh, I just wish I could just be a little more easy going like bob and not take myself so seriously. Bob, do you mind sharing with us your secret on how to be so good at everything, while being able to be so easy going, not taking things too seriously, and be so fun to be around?

Dang, now he's the fun expert too!:)

I find Bob very entertaining myself, in a sadistic sense. He's done his job very well here. He's much like my uncle, You have to laugh at everything he says because none of it is believable. He's simply a story teller.
