Seriously, French Lick would be a ton of fun for everyone. There are actually some other local attractions that I think you might enjoy as well. I haven't actually stayed in the facility since the multi-million dollar upgrade, but from the looks of it, they really brought it back to life. I certainly don't want to push anyone into just agreeing with this location, but it may be that one of us has to kinda push for an executive decision or we still might be talking on this thread come March. ;) Maybe this could be a rotating meet-n-greet to each of our back yards?

I kinda like the idea of making this a yearly or twice a year thing and have it move locations to different people's turf.

If we go with Layfette I vote for the Holiday Inn....

Go to www.holidayinn.com for better prices... also check the Advance purcase rates those are usually up to 20% off rack rate.... but, be aware that if you book one of those the cancellation penalty is the entire stay rate plus tax. And you get billed by the hotel at the time of booking or when they see the new reservation anyway.

As far as I'm concerned any of the locations suggested (Indianapolis, Lafayette, French Lick, Terre Haute, etc.) are doable for us....Driving 5-6 hours is not an issue for us.

YMMV

Ok, executive decision here --- this time we will meet at Lafayette, with Ducky and J Mac as our hosts. March 13-14 will be the date.

Now, we have the date and the location.

Who's going to be there for sure?

I'll be there with bells on.... and since the location is set I'll be booking at the Holiday Inn in Lafayette. Finally a reason to use my Priority Club points!

You'd think from one manager to another, you'd have some pull to get us all some great rates. :sqembarrassed:

We typically spend a bit more than the average person on a hotel, so I'm not sure where we'll stay quite yet.

I wish it worked that way.... looks like their best rate is $109.99 which honestly isn't a bad rate.... since they are all franchises I have no more pull at this Holiday Inn then I do for getting free doughnuts from Duncan Doughnuts.

If people can let me know soonish (by say Dec 1st) if they're gonna come or not, I could go talk to some of the local hotels and see if they'll cut us a deal for "x" number of rooms.

I think rather than repliing in this post whether you are comming or not... send J Mac a PM.... then he can report back who all has confirmed... as for me I'll be at the Hotel, Motel,,, Holiday Inn....

Another Holiday Inn that doesn't offer a complimentary breakfast? WTH?

But, it has a lounge that would be cool to hang out in depending on the overall size of our group.

Check It Out Here

Ducky or J Mac, if you were to rate the hotels, which one would be deemed the best probably? (Don't worry about hurting Rob's feelings, he's got thick skin!)
