And yet here we are..b*tchin' that some work 4 hours for $225.00...
More like 10 to 12 hours of their time most likely....plus not to mention they still bring their equipment set up and tear down.
Let's keep feeding the "work for less money" mentality, and my "DJs on Demand" Uber like App idea will very likely become reality in a couple more years.
We will have DJs going out and doing 4 hour shows for $85, and taking an 80% Net on it as their pay. First available DJ to be readily available, and ready to make that money will accept the work. The App will give them google maps directions to the gig. They go, set up, play, tear down, no money is exchanged. The App direct deposits the cash into the DJ's Bank Account the next day. Customers get to rate the DJ on a scale of 1 to 5 stars. If DJs don't maintain a 4 star rating, they are booted from the system...Better to a great job to keep those $70 gigs coming your way!
The App will let customers know which DJs are insured or not to boot, plus background checks will be mandatory to be a part of the system. DJs who can't pass the bankground check or refuse to work for the absurdly low rates will end up retiring because they won't be able to compete with the APP.
I should get with Uber Corporate, and pitch my idea. ...I am surprised Thumbtack doesn't get an app like this crated so they can corner the market completely.
