It would likely fly here in Canada as they are from here but likely kill the floor in most venues in most of the USA.

Frankie Goes To Hollywood was always good down there but up here they act like they would rather Relax than dance to it.

Somewhere around here, I have the Extended 12" mix on vinyl (from my days in record pools) of "Don't Forget Me When I'm Gone", which of course features the king of Canada, Bryan Adams.

I played "Don't Forget Me (When I'm Gone)" and "Thin Red Line" this past Saturday! Both were by request and both floated like a rock in a swimming pool!

Gee Steve: I'll bet that you even have Bryan Adam's disco hit "Let Me Take You Dancing"

Nick Lowe - yes, I have it, although I don't remember the last time I've played it.

Doug & The Slugs - sure don't. I remember the band name, though. Reminds me of those times, in the 80s, when my best friend and I would sift through the L.A. Weekly (free rag of a newspaper), looking at club bands, just to check out the great band names:

Snotty Scotty & The Hankies
Live Nude Girl
Fat And F---ed Up (I wondered if that was a band, or a duo)

We also used to like to go to Tower Records, before hitting the clubs, checking out the latest CD singles, and sometimes looking at the VHS porno rentals, essentially for the same reason, to amuse ourselves at the titles. The ones we liked best were parodies of regular movie titles. The only one I can remember offhand is: Edward Penishands.

Thanks for the suggestions and sorry again for the misunderstanding at the start...it was a bit abrupt.
I should have kicked it off by asking for suggestions and then gone from there.
Sure, it's a learning curve eh? :sqwink:

or this one which may have just missed the 80,s

It was about 84 or 85 that came out...

As an aside didja know Dave Edmunds wrote that?

1) Know this song, from 1981?

2) Know who wrote it for the woman singing it?

1)I do remember it and knew it was very early 80's but I wouldn't have been able to tell you the year exactly . I think I have it on a compilation tape somewhere :sqerr:

2)Thomas Dolby if I recall correctly

Thanks for the memory Steve it's been at least 20 years since I heard that song

I use it quite often Jon works wonders here

If he doesn't, you can borrow mine......
Before hitting it big, Adams was the replacement lead singer for the band Sweeny Todd ("Roxy Roller") after the original singer Nick Gilder left for LA and hit big w/ "Hot Child In The City"

...just a little Northern Exposure for y'all eh!?
